Jake Paul has enlisted prominent lawyer Alex Spiro to take legal action against individuals alleging his boxing matches are fixed.

The YouTube personality-turned-fighter is responding to accusations that threaten his sporting credibility and commercial partnerships.

Spiro, who commands fees of approximately £2,400 per hour, represents numerous high-profile figures including Elon Musk.

His appointment demonstrates Paul's serious approach to confronting what his team describes as baseless and harmful claims.

Jake Paul has hired the services of Alex Spiro as his legal council

"I've been retained by Mr. Paul to pursue legal redress for the damages he has suffered," Spiro told the Daily Mail.

"If someone uses their public soapbox to harm him and the sport with lies, there will be consequences."

The American lawyer has built his reputation defending entertainment and business elites in complex legal battles. His client portfolio includes rapper Jay-Z, actor Alec Baldwin and tennis champion Naomi Osaka.

Spiro secured a major victory for Baldwin when involuntary manslaughter charges were dropped in the 2021 'Rust' shooting case after he revealed prosecutors had concealed evidence.

He successfully defended Jay-Z against false assault allegations, achieving a dismissal with prejudice whilst highlighting his client's refusal to settle.

The attorney also represented Osaka against her former coach's claim for lifetime earnings commission, arguing successfully that the agreement lacked validity. These high-stakes victories demonstrate Spiro's expertise in managing cases involving public figures facing reputational threats.

Alex Spiro has been brought on to defend Jake Paul against allegations of match fixing

The rigging allegations intensified following Paul's unanimous decision victory against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June.

Television presenter Piers Morgan emerged as a prominent critic, publicly questioning whether Paul's victories were genuine.

Further controversy erupted after Paul's November bout with Mike Tyson, which attracted more than 108 million viewers on Netflix. Former NFL player Adam 'Pacman' Jones, who maintains a friendship with Tyson, voiced suspicions about the contest's authenticity.

:

"I truly think the fight was rigged because if you look at the first round, Mike hit him with a couple and it looked like he told him to slow down," Jones told The Mirror.

"Did I think his feet were all the way there? No, I didn't. He was a little wobbly on the feet."

Paul's manager and MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian strongly refuted the allegations during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. He characterised the claims as defamatory and stressed they were inflicting significant harm on Paul's commercial interests and MVP's operations.

"When you definitively state that Jake is putting on staged or rigged fights, that's just defamation, and you're causing substantial damage to his business, to MVP's business, and something that's 100 per cent not true," Bidarian said.

He revealed the accusations were complicating relationships with corporate partners including DAZN, Netflix and Celsius.

"We're having to have conversations with our partners that are just unjustifiable," he explained. "Our legal representation is looking at multiple individuals to go after."
