If you're looking to shave years off your appearance, the secret might lie in your hairdo.

Hairstylist and director of extensions retailer I'm So Pretty, Lucy Conlan, spoke exclusively to GB News about how women can look "10 years younger" with simple adjustments to their hairstyle.

Your hair may have lost its va-va-voom over the years as a result of age-related changes, such as thinner strands and accelerated hair loss.

However, regaining that coveted bounce is both essential - and possible - for a youthful appearance.

Lucy warned: "If you walk around sporting flat, thin and dull hair, this can add to your years rather than take them away."

The expert recommended that those with naturally thicker hair use volumising products such as root-lifting sprays and lightweight styling creams.

Other practical solutions include a blow-out or hair extensions for "extra body and bounce".

A blow-out, which can be done at home or in the salon, offers an immediate boost to hair volume.

Offering a pro tip, Lucy advised that using a round brush or Velcro curlers during styling helps to lift the hair effectively.

For more dramatic results, clip-in hair extensions provide instant volume, while salon-fitted extensions offer a longer-lasting solution.

Lucy also spoke to GB News about her hair dye hacks for a more youthful look, warning women to beware of ageing colours that "wash you out" and "make fine lines more noticeable".

Revealing what to ask for instead, she claimed that the right salon requests can leave you looking "10 years younger".

Lucy advised women to opt for softer hair colours, noting that harsh, dark shades can emphasise fine lines.

Instead of harsh dark colours, the expert recommended a blend of highlights and lowlights to achieve a younger look.

She advised: "To add dimension and brightness to your skin, choose warmer shades like honey, caramel or golden highlights."

This combination of tones can "add a natural, youthful glow to your face".

For another anti-ageing fix, ladies can revamp their makeup routines. An expert named the lipstick mistake that "adds years to your face" over 50.
