A GB News guest launched a scathing attack on Labour's Homelessness Minister, branding her actions "hypocrisy of the highest order" after reports emerged that she substantially increased rent on her East London property following the departure of tenants.
Speaking on GB News, former Conservative MP Jonathan Gullis condemned what he described as "utter, shameless hypocrisy" from Labour politicians who publicly criticise landlords whilst engaging in similar practices themselves.
The controversy centres on Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Rushanara Ali, who reportedly gave four tenants four months' notice to vacate her property last November.

According to the i Paper, the property was subsequently re-advertised at a monthly rent £700 higher than the previous tenants had been paying.
In a furious rant, Gullis said: "Just every time people say to me, 'what’s my issue with the Labour Party or people on the left?' It’s hypocrisy.
"It’s the utter, shameless hypocrisy, when it comes to the virtue signalling around landlords being somehow all guilty of being really bad and rogue, when actually the majority of them own one or two properties and do the best they can, because that’s an asset they want to be able to pass down.
"Then there’s the idea that some Labour ministers are even talking about rent controls. And lo and behold, Angela Rayner is literally talking about that, with some legislation being looked at for the high street.
"So what does this mean in terms of the private rental sector? It is hypocrisy of the highest order.
"If you’re going to run on a manifesto as Labour did and Rushanara herself has repeatedly said in the House of Commons since the general election that Labour wishes to abolish Section 21 ‘no-fault’ evictions, then I can’t see, on a point of principle, how she can legitimately stay in her position if she’s doing the very thing she’s criticising others for doing.
"I think if there was integrity left in politics, and there are plenty of Conservatives you can point to as well, she would step down and let someone who doesn’t have a conflict of interest take this legislation through. It doesn’t mean she can’t come back in a different position.
"But if you’re going to have the brass neck to tell landlords they’re wrong for doing no-fault evictions, and then do one yourself and hike up your rent prices, then shock horror people are going to say it’s one rule for you and one rule for everyone else."
Political Commentator Nina Myskow responded: "I think it is hypocrisy. And I think she’s made a mistake, and there are people who do make mistakes. She’s not unique. Look at them.
"Let’s not go into the mistakes of the last 14 years. My God talk about conflict of interest. Let’s just say ‘Randox’ and move on, for heaven’s sake."
Patrick Christys said: "There’s always one who just doesn’t see it, doesn’t see the implications and puts their own personal interest first.

"But for me, though, it’s the idea that if you are the homelessness minister how do you think you’d get away with this?"
Ali's spokesperson defended her conduct, stating: "Rushanara takes her responsibilities seriously and complied with all relevant legal requirements."
Sources close to the minister claimed the property had initially been placed on the market whilst occupied, with tenants offered the option to remain on a rolling contract during the sale process.
The tenants reportedly chose to leave voluntarily, and the property was only re-advertised as a rental after failing to sell.
