Around 125 firefighters were called to tackle a large grass fire at a London park which saw residents evacuated from their homes.
A wildfire response vehicle joined 20 fire engines at the scene of the blaze at Beam Parklands in Dagenham on Monday, July 14, evening.
The fire involved around eight eight hectares of grass, shrubland and trees, as well as fences and garden furniture, London Fire Brigade confirmed.
Residents were urged to keep their doors and windows and shut due to the smoke.
Road closures were put in place, with people advised to avoid the area.
London Fire Bridage said its wildlife response vehicle, which is able to carry around 475 litres of water, was sent to the scene.
Wildlife beaters, used to deprive flames of oxygen and cool them down, were also used to prevent the fire from spreading.
