Historian David Starkey has launched a scathing attack on Foreign Secretary David Lammy during a recent GB News appearance.

Speaking to Steven Edgington, Starkey said: "At the moment you have David Lammy, who thinks that Henry the Seventh succeeded Henry the Eighth.

"When he watches the smoke rise from the next papal conclave he is on record saying isn't it shockingly racist that there will be black or white smoke, depending on the skin colour of the Pope you have?

"Somebody who is as stupid as that in theory, defending British interests."
