Travellers who might be looking to fly home for Christmas are being hit with delays as Storm Pia hits parts of Southern England. 

Travel information site FlightView is reporting delays for a wide range of flights going in to London Heathrow airport.

FlightView is reporting flights going to Hannover, Budapest, Brussels, Copenhagen and Munich are facing delays of at least an hour. It has not been confirmed if the weather is causing the delays.

It comes as gales are expected to reach up to 80mph in some areas of the UK.All of Scotland and large swathes of England set to be impacted until this evening as Storm Pia batters the country.Several services have been cancelled in Scotland by Network Rail as staff check the lines.
