Greek authorities convicted Maguire of assaulting police officers and attempting to bribe officials, resulting in a suspended prison term of 21 months.
The footballer has consistently rejected these accusations and maintains his innocence regarding the alleged altercation.
Following the guilty verdict, the conviction was immediately nullified when Maguire's legal team lodged an appeal. Under Greek law, this automatic process meant the original judgement was set aside pending a fresh hearing.

The former United captain has awaited the opportunity to contest the charges properly. His legal representatives have prepared to challenge the prosecution's version of events from that August 2020 evening.

A March 2025 hearing failed to materialise, prompting concerns from a Syros court official who indicated proceedings might never occur.
The official cited the August 2028 deadline when limitation laws would expire on the case.
Despite these obstacles, the 8 October date has been secured, according to the Daily Mail.
Maguire has England obligations against Wales the following day, though personal attendance at the Greek court won't be required for the proceedings.
This season is shaping up to be a big one for the 32-year-old.
