NextImg:Harry and Meghan 'continue to play saints': Duke and Duchess plans discussed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “continue to play saints” with their upcoming plans, a royal commentator has claimed.

It comes as the couple’s Archewell Foundation continues to face questions surrounding its future after repeated setbacks.

Speaking on GB News, Kinsey Schofield speculated over what the Duke and Duchess’s next move will be, stating they are not known best for their charity work.

“When you think of Harry and Meghan, you visualise them sitting next to Oprah Winfrey”, she said.

“The constant complaining, the glossy Netflix billboards. Their brands are totally not comparable, despite them constantly telling us they are Princess Diana 2.0.

“I think they seem to be very vindictive in the work that they’ve done since they’ve left the Royal Family and people aren’t stupid.”

The couple’s Archewell organisation donated grants of $1.2m (£950,000) to charities this year, its annual report revealed.

Projects ranging from helping Afghan women in the US to tackling misinformation are among the causes the foundation deals with.

The couple also support the Halo Trust, a mine-clearing charity once supported by Princess Diana.

Comparing the couple to Diana, Schofield said there is a clear contrast.

“When you think about the Harry and Meghan brand, you don’t think about charity work”, she said.

“When we think about Diana, we see the visuals of her touching the AIDS patients.

“We see her holding babies that were just pure bones. We see her caressing cancer patients.”

Other projects funded by the couple include a $200,000 for a “gender justice” project in Washington.

In addition, $125,000 was shelled out for a civil-rights charity and a further $100,000 for a project promoting responsible use of technology.

Archewell has an annual salary bill of more than $640,000.
