The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are under fire for “wanting all the benefits of royalty” by Tom Harwood who noted a key move in the launch of their new website.

The GB News presenter spoke to Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker about the couple’s decision to launch a brand new website ahead of their trip to Canada with particular reference made to their decision to keep royal titles on the page.

Harwood questioned whether the couple have put in the legwork required to justify using the regal titles.

“Is this just people who want all of the benefits and trinkets of royalty with none of the duties?”, Harwood asked.

GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker said this could be an attempt by the Sussexes to “make it” on the A-list circuit.

“Tomorrow, we’re expected to see the two of them in public at the one year countdown to the Invictus Games in Canada”, he said.

Prince Harry and Meghan MarkleCritics of Harry and Meghan have accused Prince Harry and Meghan of using the crest to capitalise on their royal titles.PA

“It’s something that Prince Harry has widely been respected for launching the Invictus Games for wounded veterans and we saw them on the red carpet a few months ago cosying up to the Paramount executive.

“We know their Spotify deal was cut early, so critics would perhaps say they’re running out of ideas to make it.

“The Montecito mansion won’t come cheap, neither will their round-the-clock security.”

The couple’s new site, sussex.com, replaces their former website, archewell.com, and was launched using the couple’s regal titles.

A large photo of the pair smiling and clapping at last year’s Invictus Games appears upon entry to the website.

In the About channel, the website states: “The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is shaping the future through business and philanthropy.

“This includes: The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Productions, patronages, ventures, and organisations which receive the support of the couple, individually and/or together.”

Harry’s profile on the website promotes his military work and mentions his controversial memoir, Spare.

It states: ‘‘The Duke is the New York Times Bestselling author of Spare, a memoir of his life told with compassion, vulnerability, and unflinching honesty.

“Spare was the publishing industry’s fastest selling non-fiction book, selling more than 1.4 million copies on its first day of publication.’’
