



GB News Radio’s phenomenal growth has hit a new record breaking high, latest data reveals today.
According to official RAJAR figures, which cover the first three months of 2025, the audience of GB News Radio has increased by 22.9% year-on-year, and 19.4% quarter-on-quarter.
The People’s Channel now boasts 559,000 weekly listeners - up from 468,000 in the last three months of 2024.
The numbers show GB News Radio has increased its market share by 33%, with average listening time up from 7.4 to 7.7 hours.
GB News Radio also recorded its highest total listening hours ever which are now at 4.3 million.
That’s up 35% year-on-year and 25% on the last quarter - a record-breaking performance.
The continuing success of GB News Radio is in stark contrast to some of its competitors, including Talk which saw its audience reach plummet by 35.9% year-on-year.
Based on the latest RAJAR and BARB data when GB News' TV and radio audiences are combined it boasts two-times the reach of its rival broadcasters, Times Radio and Talk combined.

The RAJAR data shows how on weekdays and at Weekends, GB News programmes are welcoming more and more listeners.
There was strong growth at weekends too, with Nana Akua on Saturdays up 54% quarter-on-quarter and 14% year-on-year. On Sunday, the audience for Nana’s show grew by 91% quarter-on-quarter and a massive 150% year-on-year.
GB News Radio is also growing across multiple regions of the United Kingdom, as more and more of Britain opt for the People’s Channel. Audiences in London grew by 75% quarter-on-quarter. In the Midlands they were up 42% quarter-on-quarter, and 51% year-on-year. In the North West, audiences grew by 56% quarter-on-quarter, and 62% year-on-year. In the East of England audiences leapt by 40% per cent on the last quarter. And in Yorkshire they were up 30 per cent quarter-on-quarter. In north Scotland they grew by a staggering 621% quarter-on-quarter and 470% year-on-year.
GB News Radio also saw a rise in the number of men aged 35-44 tuning in. Listeners in that demographic leapt by a massive 337% quarter-on-quarter, and 159% year-on-year. Female listeners in the same age group (35-44) also grew, up 31% year-on-year.
The way listeners are accessing GB News is changing too. The People’s Channel, which now boasts a major global distribution partnership with TuneIn, saw its audiences via DAB grow 19% quarter on quarter, and 22% year-on-year.
Listening via smart speakers was up 28% on the last quarter and 48% year-on-year. Its performance across digital was up 19% quarter-on-quarter, and 22% year-on-year.
The People’s Channel continues to innovate, recently launching AI-generated traffic reports using the voice of newsreader Sam Francis. Sports bulletins are already generated by AI using the voice of newsreader Tatiana Sanchez.
