A GB News live audience member delivered a "simple solution" to the migrant crisis after Government sources revealed that several hundred migrants reject transfers from hotel accommodation to different housing options each week.

The audience member named Sam proposed that all arriving migrants, particularly those crossing via small boats, should be immediately placed in disused military installations.

Speaking on Patrick Christys live show, he said: "As regards these immigrants, we're too soft on them. There’s a simple solution that benefits all parties.

"Most of these people are illegal. They love to argue, 'you don’t know until you find out.' But it’s simple: all immigrants who come in, especially the small boat people, should go straight into a military facility that’s currently unused.

The GB News live audience member delivered his "simple solution"

"If there isn’t space in the military unit, then use marquees put them there. You assess them, vet them, and check for conformity.

"Because they’ve broken the law to get here, put them all in uniform. The same one so they're all on the same level and understand they’re in the same process.

"Now, the ones who are legal and can prove they're genuine after being vetted can be released into the real world. That way, the establishment has already done the checks, and we avoid this chaotic process.

"As for the ones who don’t pass the vetting, then you've got to decide what you're going to do with them."

Patrick Christys said: "People largely agree with that."

The Home Office announced yesterday that single male asylum seekers who decline relocation from hotels to alternative housing could face eviction and homelessness.

Government sources revealed that several hundred migrants reject transfers from hotel accommodation to different housing options each week.

The fresh regulations grant individuals a minimum five-day written notification before relocation.

Those who repeatedly refuse to relocate face removal from their current housing and potential withdrawal of financial assistance.

The policy emerges as ministers face mounting demands to decrease hotel usage for asylum accommodation, with demonstrations occurring in Epping near facilities housing asylum seekers during the previous week.

The asylum accommodation system currently houses 32,345 individuals in hotels, according to March 2025 figures.

The asylum accommodation system currently houses 32,345 individuals in hotels, according to March 2025 figures.

This represents a decline from the 2023 peak when hotel occupancy exceeded 50,000 people.

Ministers have committed to terminating hotel usage for asylum accommodation within four years, targeting 2029 for complete cessation.

The accommodation crisis has intensified since 2020, when hotel numbers began their upward trajectory.
