A possible 'gas explosion' has ripped through a house in Clayton, Manchester, with emergency services rushing to the scene.

Pictures of the incident show an end terrace house on Coatbridge Street that has sustained damages to the front walls and windows.

Police, firefighters, paramedics, and workers from Cadent Gas are at the scene, with an air ambulance also deployed.

Witnesses have reported seeing paramedics treating a man who was "walking and talking" before he was later taken to hospital.

There has been no official update on injuries from authorities.

However, police at the scene said that no one has been seriously hurt, according to Manchester Evening News.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly before 6.30pm this evening, three fire engines from Phillips Park, Blackley and Gorton fire stations were called to an incident involving a terraced house on Coatbridge Street, Manchester.

“Firefighters are working alongside Greater Manchester Police, North West Ambulance Service and Cadent Gas to make the area safe. They remain in attendance at this time.”
