Four years ago, a fearless fighter was born.
Tasked with a mission to speak up for the people of Britain and fiercely defend their values, at 8pm on June 13, 2021, GB News began.
At last, a free speech channel for voices overlooked by mainstream broadcasters that embraced a mission of fearless journalism and unflinching debate!
What could possibly be wrong with that?
I’ll tell you what.
The cosy cabal that makes up the British media and political classes didn’t like it.
Immediately, the channel found itself in a bruising battle that no one back then expected us to win.
Brutal blows rained down daily, delivered by those petrified of this upstart media organisation and what it stood for.
GB News has and always will be a free speech channel for voices overlooked by mainstream broadcasters
GB NEWS
Of course, it’s human nature to fear change.
But the backlash against GB News was almost inhumane in its fury. And why?
Because we dared to do something different, that’s why.
The hysteria to kill us off regularly reached Salem witch trial levels, with so-called serious figures demanding we be shut down.
One ludicrous rant demanded the shutters be brought down on the channel for the ‘crime’ of daring to upset Britain’s ‘broadcast ecology.’
But the social and political climate has changed, and we have weathered the dark and dangerous storms. Simply put, we will not be intimidated.
And now, as we mark our fourth birthday, GB News stands as a symbol of positive disruption, defiance, and a new, hopeful direction in British broadcasting.
We are now a formidable player – the People’s Channel run by the people FOR the people.
But we always remind ourselves that our true strength comes from YOU.
As we mark our fourth birthday, GB News stands as a symbol of positive disruption, defiance, and a new, hopeful direction in British broadcasting
GB NEWS
Without your backing, GB News on TV, radio, and our digital platforms would be nothing.
And our future success and growth depend on you.
We are grateful for the trust you have put in us to be the channel where your voices and values can be championed.
You have our word that we will do everything we can to keep that trust.
To do that, we must continue to stand up for what we believe in and never bend in the hurricane of opinion.
Our core principles demand that we stand up for the unheard, champion free speech, celebrate Britain’s potential and innovate boldly - all in the name of building a forward-looking, united Britain.
We fight for the pillars that support our society, our families, our community, our rich history and our future.
While our political leaders bicker among themselves, the challenges Britain faces pile up.
Economic instability has been compounded by an immigration catastrophe that no political party has managed to get a grip on.
Indeed, there’s no sign just yet that any party or politician knows how to solve the problem
Meanwhile, the NHS is in constant crisis, school funding is utterly chaotic, and the stench of rot in local Government smells worse than the uncollected bins of Birmingham.
But on GB News, we refuse to wallow in the problems. We seek only solutions.
GB News is a forum where we talk frankly about the problems, but face them with honesty and positivity.
We want Britain to look forward with hope.
Every day, GB News unites the polarised political world, choosing stories and holding debates aimed ultimately at healing the divisions across the regions, generations, and classes.
In the past four years, we have encouraged honest discussion over immigration and border control, climate change and Net Zero policies, the gender identity debate and the insidious creep of political correctness and woke cancel culture.
There are no other mainstream channels that can honestly say that. Britain has and always will be our true focus.
GB NEWS
GB News stands shoulder to shoulder with you in your towns and cities daily, but we do acknowledge the wider world impacts life here.
That’s why we’ve closely covered events in the US where President Trump’s social and economic revolution since the turn of 2025 has had a seismic effect here in Britain and across the world.
These days, what happens one day in Washington DC has huge ramifications the next day in Washington, Tyne and Wear.
At home and abroad, GB News, the plucky, underdog fighter born four years ago, has come of age.
You may have noted that the fourth birthday falls on Friday 13.
But it’s not us - or you the GB News audience and members - that should have any fears.
That’s because today we are not just celebrating survival, but success.
And that growing success should send a shiver of horror down the spines of those who sought to silence us.
