Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner has described Kyle Clifford's sentence as "fitting for the appalling nature of his crimes".

Speaking outside court, Gardner delivered a strong statement about the case.

"Clifford showed once again he is a coward," Gardner told reporters after the sentencing hearing.
