Ex-Mumford and Sons star Winston Marshall has raged at the state of play in Britain, arguing ‘far-left extremists’ are ‘given a pass’.

He spoke out against the BBC - claiming the broadcaster is doing little to vilify those on the far-left of the political spectrum despite them causing havoc ‘every week’ in Britain.

Marshall said their misdemeanours are on display regularly during pro-Palestine demonstrations that have become a regular feature of life in Britain.

“We have seen very far-left groups on the streets of London”, he said on GB News

“Socialist and Marxists, ever since October 7 every week.”

He added: “I went to one of Posie Parker’s talks, a woman who is constantly slandered and libelled as being far-right.

“I saw the counter-protesters. They were holding signs with Lenin.

“Lenin, who as Robert Conquest, the historian, noted, killed about 12 million people and began the Great Terror of the Soviet Union.

“Far-left extremists are given a complete pass in the UK. It’s ignored.”

It comes as the BBC issued an apology for referring to Reform UK as “far right” in a news report.

It related to coverage of the Liberal Democrats’ spring conference by the broadcaster.

The BBC said: “In an article about the Liberal Democrats’ spring conference we wrongly described the political party Reform UK as far right when referring to polling.

“This sentence was subsequently removed from the article as it fell short of our usual editorial standards.”

Reform describes itself on its website as “a national political party offering common sense policies on immigration, the cost of living, energy & national sovereignty”.

Tice blasted the broadcaster, saying: “There are very significant implications of calling a political party, and by implication, its leader and senior leadership team far right.

“It is that which is defamatory and libellous. That is why they have apologised immediately.”
