A EuroMillions winner has scooped up a gigantic £56million jackpot.

The fortunate ticket holder from Spain matched all the required numbers to secure the enormous windfall, according to the National Lottery.

The victorious combination consisted of main numbers 27, 30, 31, 41 and 43, alongside lucky stars 5 and 8.

Winners have 180 days from the draw date to collect their prizes, with comprehensive details available through the National Lottery's official website.

Several other participants came remarkably close to the top prize, with one player securing £524,043.10 after matching five main numbers and a single lucky star.

Five additional winners matched all five main numbers, earning £24,495.50 each for their near-miss.

A further 30 participants across Europe, including six from the UK, matched four main numbers alongside both lucky stars, resulting in individual payouts of £1,271.60.

These substantial secondary prizes demonstrate how multiple tiers of winnings can create numerous winners from a single draw, even when the main jackpot goes to a single ticket holder.

The next EuroMillions draw takes place later today, offering participants the chance to win a £14million jackpot.

Players who successfully match all five main numbers and both lucky stars will claim the top prize.

Those matching five main numbers plus one lucky star stand to receive £130,554.30, whilst matching all five main numbers without any lucky stars yields £13,561.20.

This substantial win follows a remarkable £206million prize claimed in June, which came after multiple unclaimed top prizes had accumulated.

The life-changing ticket was bought at a shop in County Cork, Ireland, the Irish National Lottery confirmed.

The jackpot had been accumulating since early June, reaching its ceiling on June 6 following multiple rollovers.
