Dyson has announced the follow-up to its much-loved Airwrap, which is set to hit UK store shelves in September.
It's called the ,and is a 6-in-1 tool designed to replace a slew of appliances used to curl, dry, wave, straighten, smooth and volumise your hair.
Powering this new kit is the British company's most powerful haircare motor, the Hyperdymium 2, which spins up to 150,000rpm — that's 9x faster than a Formula 1 car engine. That extra oomph delivers twice the air pressure of previous models, which should help dry and style your hair faster than before.
In use with the new attachments, Dyson claims this miniature motor can dry hair as fast as a full-performance hair dryer. The powerful motor also enables a stronger Coanda airflow for better hair wrapping and curling power, and can create straighter styles.
Dyson's re-engineered Airwrap is available in Jasper Plum and Ceramic Pink colourways, with a colour-matched presentation case

All of that performance comes from a motor that uses wires as thin as a single strand of human hair, measuring just 90 microns. Redesigned from the ground up for this new-generation Airwrap, Dyson says that despite increasing power by 30%, the new motor isn't any noisier than its predecessor.
Like , the new Airwrap can now recognise which attachment is connected and adjust the heat and speed of airflow accordingly. Built-in memory will recall the last settings used with that attachment, so you’ll only need to set-up your preferences with attachments once.
The system works via RFID tags built into the attachments, that’s the same system used in keycards or fobs to buzz into a secure building ― so you won’t need to charge your attachments. We saw this system , an unrecognisable hair dryer from Dyson released exclusively for professional stylists in early 2024, before making its way to the Supersonic Nural, and now, the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x.
The RFID technology that made its debut with Dyson's professional lineup is coming to the new Airwrap — automatically switching between airflow and heat settings based on what's attached to the machine

When you snap-on the new attachments to the Airwrap, the 6-in-1 tool will immediately adapt to the best temperature and airflow settings.
The attachments are preset with recommended airflow and heat settings. However, loads-up the MyDyson mobile app on iPhone or Android and you'll be able to customise the airflow and heat for each of your attachments.
The new Airwrap is packed with sensors that monitor air temperature 1,000 times every second, ensuring hair doesn't overheat during styling — causing damage. Dyson has also equipped its new Airwrap model with a sensor that lets you know the filter needs to be cleaned.
Discussing the importance of keeping temperature consistent, Dyson Senior Principal Scientist Rob Smith said: "Hair health is always our priority when developing new machines and formulations. We know that healthy hair is not only shinier but feels great too. We study individual hair strands of all textures and types inside and out to ensure our machines are designed with hair health at the forefront."
In the UK, Airwrap is available with two sets of attachments — Straight + Wavy or Curly + Coily — that each ship with six attachments in a Dyson-designed presentation case. Dyson says these extras should be more than enough to achieve "any style, for every hair type".
Of course, Dyson will also stock a wide selection of standalone attachments to equip with your Airwrap, including the 20mm Co-anda 2x Curling Barrel, 30mm Co-anda 2x Curling Barrel, AirSmooth2x, Wave+Curl Diffuser 2x and Tension Comb 2x, to name a few.
Outside of the new bundles of attachments coming to UK stores, Dyson will sell several additional attachments separately, like the Wave+Curl Diffuser 2x for its more powerful Airwrap

James Dyson, founder and chief engineer, said: "Dyson has developed a new motor for our new Airwrap2x, which spins at 150,000rpm, delivering twice the air pressure, faster drying and less heat damage. The high pressure creates a longer lasting curl or straighter styles.
"Traditional stylers can damage hair, but we have always focused on developing tools that protect hair health whilst enhancing without compromising precision and or performance. We harness our expertise in motors, fluid dynamics, and materials to continually improve. New attachments like the AirSmooth2x create sleek looks, and the patented bristles on the Anti-Snag Loop Brush 2x create snag-free styling, all while AI-driven sensors adjust heat to protect your hair.
"It’s about creating exciting long-lasting styles using with smarter, more efficient technology."
Available in Jasper Plum and Ceramic Pink, the new Dyson Airwrap will reelase in the UK in September.
