The South East of England is the UK's leading region for car insurance claims, according to new research, prompting experts to call on drivers to make changes to save money.
The region represented 20.03 per cent of all UK car insurance claims over the past five years, according to the latest claims data.
The most frequent type of claim in the South East was for accidents where the driver was at fault, but no injuries occurred.
This regional dominance highlights significant variations in road risk across different parts of the country.

The East Midlands ranks second with 14.48 per cent of the national total, whilst the North West follows in third place with 12.64 per cent of all claims.
Both the South East and East Midlands share the same primary claim type - accidents where the driver was at fault but without injuries.
However, the North West's most common claim differs, involving accidents where the driver was not at fault and successfully recovered all costs and excess.
At the opposite extreme, the Isle of Man recorded merely 0.01 per cent of all claims, with the Channel Islands registering just 0.02 per cent.

Tom Banks, car insurance spokesperson for Go.Compare, commented on the findings: "It's fascinating to see the regional spread of claims across the UK, and how major infrastructure like the M1, M5, and M6 may influence this.
"These are some of the busiest arteries of UK road traffic and run through many of the top regions for claims."
Banks emphasised that motorists have numerous opportunities to reduce their insurance costs.
"From limiting mileage to choosing the right policy add-ons, a few simple steps can make a big difference," he said.
Go.Compare has outlined six key strategies for reducing car insurance costs, including limiting annual mileage, with the company noting that fewer miles typically translate to lower premiums for drivers.
Paying annually rather than monthly could save motorists significantly, with Go.Compare's data indicating that monthly payments cost 57 per cent more than annual ones.
Installing approved security devices such as alarms or immobilisers may also reduce premiums.
Banks added: "Purchasing your car insurance policy 26 days before the renewal date is a great way to save money - you could end up paying 30 per cent more if you leave it till the same day."
