The driver of the car which crashed into the Study Prep school in Wimbledon killing two schoolgirls has been arrested after detectives reopened the investigation, the Metropolitan Police said.
The 48-year-old female driver of the 4x4 killed Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau – both eight years old - when the car ploughed through the school's gates on July 6, 2023.
She has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
This is the second time she has been arrested for this offence, the first time being at the scene of the collision.
The first investigation conducted by the Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) resulted in the 48-year-old facing no criminal charges, as instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in June 2024.
