NextImg:Donald Trump orders fresh 'kinetic' strike on Venezuelan 'narcoterrorists' as conflict intensifies

President Donald Trump has launched a second military strike on a vessel believed to be carrying Venezuelan drug cartel members in the Caribbean Sea.

The US President confirmed on his Truth Social platform that three Venezuelan "narcoterrorists" had died following the strikes.

Mr Trump posted: "This morning, on my Orders, US Military Forces conducted a second Kinetic Strike against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility.

"The strike occurred while these confirmed narcoterrorists from Venezuela were in International Waters transporting illegal narcotics (A deadly weapon poisoning Americans!) headed to the US.

"These extremely violent drug trafficking cartels pose a threat to to US National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital US interests.

"The strike resulted in 3 male terrorists killed in action. No US Forces were harmed in this strike.

"Be warned - if you are transporting drugs that can kill Americans, we are hunting you!

"The illicit activities by these cartels have wrought devastating consequences on American communities for decades, killing millions of American Citizens. No longer."

The strike comes just weeks after the US military carried out similar action which killed 11 Venezuelan members of a violent cartel.

The White House said the boat was holding "massive amounts of drugs coming into our country to kill a lot of people" in the aftermath of the most recent strike.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Venezuelans onboard the boat "knew exactly what they were doing and who they represented".

Democrats called on the White House to provide legal justification for carrying out strikes on the boats in the Caribbean Sea.

A source familiar with the operation claimed to the Daily Mail: "The strike was designed to 'illicit a response from Maduro and provoke him' to 'show his true colours,' but he didn't take the bait."

In response to Monday's strike, Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro labelled the strikes as an act of "aggression" by the US.

Mr Maduro added that there is currently no communications between the Trump administration and his socialist regime.

During a press conference with top military officials, the Venezuelan said: "It is an aggression all down the line, it's a judicial aggression when they criminalise us, a political aggression with their daily threatening statements, a diplomatic aggression and an ongoing aggression of military character.

"The communications with the government of the US have been thrown away, they have been thrown away by them with their threats of bombs, death and blackmail."

The dictator's allies have claimed the US will attempt a regime-change operation in the South American country, warning the US President that hardliners such as Mr Rubio were trying to start a "terrible war".

Last month, the US announced a $50million (£37million) reward for information leading to the arrest of Mr Maduro.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi accused the dictator of collaborating with violent groups including organised crime group Tren de Aragua and the Sinaloa drug cartel.
