Former Prime Minister Liz Truss has said that the Civil Service is "past its sell by date", as she sat down with Nigel Farage for an exclusive tell-all interview.

Truss told GB News: "We've had a whole bunch of Foreign Office civil servants last week saying ministers have too much power. There should be more power for the Foreign Office bureaucracy.

"You had another former permanent secretary of the Foreign Office, Simon McDonald, saying he was upset about Brexit and telling Foreign Office civil servants that. So, I think this idea of a Civil Service which doesn't have a worldview is past its sell by date. And this is an issue we really have to address, if we want to deliver real change and Conservative change in the country.

"I can't tell you how difficult it is to run an organisation where people fundamentally don't agree with what you're trying to do."
