GB News has secured the Best News Programme gong at the National Reality TV Awards, triumphing over broadcasters including ITV News, BBC News, Sky News and Good Morning Britain.

The victory at the 14th annual ceremony held at Porchester Hall in London was determined entirely by public voting.

The breakfast programme, presented by Eamonn Holmes, Ellie Costello and Stephen Dixon, claimed the honour at the ceremony, which attracted millions of votes from viewers across the nation.

GB News entertainment editor Alex Davies said: "Now, you might not have expected GB News to be up for an award at the National Reality TV Awards, but in the Best News category, we saw off the likes of ITV News, BBC News, Sky News, and Good Morning Britain.

GB News entertainment editor Alex Davies said it is "really lovely"

"Wow, just wow. And what’s really lovely about this is that it was voted for by the public.

"We had success at the TRIC awards not too long ago, which was also publicly voted for, and now this."

He added: "It’s another great achievement for the channel and it just shows the incredible backing we’ve got from our fans."

Christopher Hope said: "Well, listen, we must thank our viewers. It's all down to them. It's you guys listening at home, watching or listening wherever you are.

"Thank you. Without that, we wouldn't get the credit for those awards. Thank you. Absolutely."

The National Reality TV Awards ceremony, hosted by Neil Fox and Cait King, featured numerous high-profile victories across various categories.

Amanda Holden secured the Best Reality TV Judge award for her role on Britain's Got Talent, whilst Ant and Dec continued their awards dominance by claiming Best TV Presenters.

The Chase triumphed in the Best Game Show category, and Linda Robson received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to television.

Other notable winners included Louis Theroux's documentary "The Settlers" for Best Docu-Series and Love Island UK for Best Entertainment Show.

This latest triumph comes hot on the heels of GB News Breakfast's remarkable achievement at the 56th Television and Radio Industries Club Awards, where the programme secured the Best News Show title for the third consecutive year.
