Christian shut down for preaching gospel fears 'heavy persecution' as 'they're NOT going for others'

Britain is “heavily persecuting” its Christians, and authorities “aren’t going after” other religions like they are with those who associate themselves with the country’s majority faith.
That is the view of Monique Bailey, a street preacher who found herself being “shut down” by British Transport Police officers outside King’s Cross Station, one of London’s major travel hubs.
Bailey, who leads Mad 4 Jesus Ministries, joined GB News to speak about whether the incident points to a wider issue surrounding the suppression of religious freedoms in a country widely accepted as being of a Christian heritage.
“As a believer, I totally believe in the Bible, and I believe we are in the days where persecution will be heavy on Christians,” she said.

“I know we’re in a time where people do not want to hear this truth. I respect everyone who does not want to believe this. Fine. But when you have the knowing, it’s important we get it out there.
“I think this should be a wake-up call to many people. I think people need to wake up and see what is really going on. I have a friend in Brighton who is preaching gospel a lot, and a lot of it is happening down there as well.
“I think that there definitely is a lot of persecution of Christians in this nation.”
Bailey posted a video to Instagram which showed a female British Transport Police officer telling a group of Christians to stop spreading the gospel outside King’s Cross Station.

In the shocking incident, she tells them, “I just think it’s wrong.”
She continued: “These people just want to do their journey; they’re not coming here to listen to you.”
The preacher highlighted perceived hypocrisy, asking if she would act in a similar manner were they “doing a happy, clappy song.”
The officer, while walking away from the argument, responds: “I just think it’s all wrong.”
British Transport Police explained in a statement that they moved the preachers on as Network Rail needs to approve their use of a loudspeaker, which they had not done.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of a video posted on social media showing an interaction involving an officer outside King’s Cross railway station.
“Officers were on patrol at the station when they came across a group preaching on private land with a loudspeaker, which requires permission from Network Rail, and as such they asked them to leave.
“We fully appreciate anyone’s right to religious expression, and the incident in full is currently being reviewed by a senior officer.”

Bailey was standing with her group on the densely populated concourse between King’s Cross and St Pancras International, aiming to get their point across to thousands travelling through London.
It comes amid fears Christians are finding it increasingly difficult to spread their message in Britain, with a series of confrontations between the police and preachers going viral.
Last year, they were forced into an apology after Christian singer Harmonie London was told to stop performing church songs outside church grounds.
The Met Police made the apology in January last year and admitted they did not have grounds to stop the 20-year-old from performing.

London told GB News the experience was “humiliating” in an interview with Jacob Rees-Mogg.
Asked about London’s incident, Bailey said Britons “have to be honest” with themselves about the trajectory Christianity appears to be on.
She said there is “definitely an inconsistency” in how Christians spreading the gospel are treated compared to other forms of protest or preaching methods delivered by those of other religious persuasions.
“They don’t do it to other religions to this extent,” she said on the People’s Channel.
“Of course not. We know that. We have to be honest. They’re not going for the Hindus or the Buddhists or the Muslims like they are with Christians.
“It’s truth. It’s facts. But that is because he [Jesus] is the truth.”
Asked if the reaction would have been similar if an atheist or a Muslim imam had been doing the exact same thing as her outside London’s King’s Cross, she said: “Not as big. Not as heavy.
“I think they would probably get in a bit of trouble, but I don’t think it’s as big as Christianity.
“That’s because the word is a sword. It strikes when you hear that, ‘we’ve all sinned and we need a saviour, and Jesus is our saviour.’
“It just irritates people. It’s only because when you’re not in alignment with God, when you haven’t given your life to Christ, then there’s that thing inside of you that gets quite irritated when you don’t believe it.”
Bailey fears things will get worse before they get better for those looking to spread the teachings of Christianity in a public space.
“We’re going to see it more,” she admitted. “We’re used to it [backlash], and I was surprised this went viral.

“I didn’t expect it because for us, this is our day to day. We expect it. If we don’t have it, we’re a bit confused.
“When I saw the reactions on social media, I was like ‘oh yes, this is quite bad.’ But because I know what’s going to happen and I know how it makes some people feel, we’re just like ‘whatever’ and we’re on the move.”
In order for the issue to be stamped out, Bailey said in a message that Christians have to be more bold and outspoken in their assertions and defence of the faith.
“Society is trying to target Jesus in a way like, ‘don’t believe in it, it’s all nonsense,’” she said.
“But once the Church actually says, ‘you know what, we’re seeing this in society and we need to step up, we need to rise up, we need to build an army that God has called us to be,’ I think that’s where shifts will happen.
“I think the police, the authorities, will say ‘we can’t do this.’ That will be because more Christians are speaking up and more Christians being bold.
“That’s why we find with Islam, Muslims, they are quite bold. That’s why I think people have a fear of Muslims; they just say what they believe in, and people are scared.
“If Christians rise up and stop taking the attitude of, ‘we have to keep quiet and stay in our little box Church,’ God has called us to go out into the world and preach the gospel.
“I think that’s where it starts from. The Church.”
