A British woman who went missing from a northern Greece beach has disappeared before, local reports indicate.
Michele Ann Joy Bourda vanished while her husband was sleeping on a sunbed on Ofrynio beach near Kavala on Friday last week.
The 59-year-old woman had been swimming about 12pm and was last seen wearing a two-piece swimsuit.
The swimsuit had rhinestones. She was also seen wearing yellow beach shoes and sunglasses with red bone frames, the British embassy in Greece said.
Some witnesses claim they saw a woman, matching her description, swimming in deep water. Another claimed to have seen Bourda walking away from the scene.
However, local reports are saying it is not the first time the woman has been missing.
Her husband, believed to be of Greek origin, is said to have asked local shop owners if they had seen his wife after he woke up on the beach and noticed she wasn't there.

He reportedly said his wife had previously disappeared in London in 2020 after being sacked from her job and was subsequently found by police.
GB News has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
Greek missing persons charity, Lifeline Hellas, sent out an alert for Bourda on Saturday after police were unable to locate her.
The charity's alert said "her life is in danger".

"If you know anything, contact the Silver Alert Service, 24 hours a day, at the national SOS line 1065," the alert added.
Bourda is described as having straight blonde hair which goes down to her shoulders.
She has hazel eyes, is roughly 5ft 6in tall, and has a slim build.
The Hellenic Coastguard is reportedly looking at sea and investigating reports that her belongings had been left on the beach.
The British Embassy in Greece has shared a notice on Facebook, reading: "Michele Ann Bourda went missing on Aug 1, 2025, at the beach of Ofrynio near Kavala".
"On the day she went missing, she was wearing a swimsuit with decorative stones, yellow water shoes and red plastic sunglasses," the post read.
"Her life is in danger."
It comes after first reports of the eyewitness who claimed to have seen a woman in deep waters, urged her not to go any further.
It is the second time a British tourist has gone missing in Greece after a 60-year-old visitor vanished last month.
The unnamed tourist was last spotted in Tristomo village on Karpathos island.
His vehicle was discovered abandoned during extreme heat conditions reaching 38C.
