A missing British toddler is missing after disappearing in Marbella, Spain, with fears growing that he has been "kidnapped and taken to Russia".

The boy, named only as Oliver P, disappeared on July 4 after being abducted by his mother on the Costa del Sol.

Spain's National Police confirmed that the boy's father is from the UK and is based in the holiday resort.

A spokesman said he filed a police report, claiming the Russian mother abducted the boy.

Neither of the parents has been named.

The Spanish National Police said it is thought the mother took Oliver "back to her home country".

However, they are not sure where the exact location is of the pair.

They added: "The investigation is ongoing".

Oliver has blonde hair, distinctively grey eyes, and is just under three feet tall.

Anyone with information that could help locate Oliver is urged to contact the National Police.

Police confirmed yesterday that Oliver's mother is Russian and his father is British.

A spokesman said: "We are treating this as a parental abduction. We believe the mother has left Spain and has taken the boy to her homeland, which is Russia."

A source close to the situation is reported to have said that Oliver's parents are separated.

They noted that a court had ordered that he was not to be taken out of Spain before he went missing.

Although the last time the boy's dad is believed to have had news of his son was in July, a local report said he only went to the police on August 7.

The appeal from the Ministry of the Interior, released by the country's National Missing Persons Centre (CNDES), said: "Oliver disappeared on July 4, 2025. His date of birth is November 3, 2021. He was three when he disappeared.

"The place he disappeared from is Marbella in the province of Malaga. He has grey eyes, blonde hair, stands 85 centimetres tall [2.75ft] and weighs 15 kilos [2.36st]."

A spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior added: "The investigation is a Spanish National Police investigation. You need to contact them."

Police say informants can contact them on the missing person hotline, 116000, or by calling the national police, 091.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are supporting the family of a British child who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."
