A British man has died on his stag do after falling off a bar stool in front of his horrified family and friends.

The 29-year-old from Halifax, West Yorkshire, who has not been named, was enjoying drinks at the Funky Flamingo bar on March 22 whilst away for the celebrations ahead of his wedding.

He then fell backwards off the stool, hitting his head on the ground.

The barman said that he and another customer tried to perform CPR on the father-of-one for 15 minutes before an ambulance arrived.

Medics tried to resuscitate the man for another 45 minutes.

Bar manager Gaston Luciano told the Daily Mail: “They gave him a shot of adrenaline and connected him to a machine, they did everything they could, it was so sad.”

Sadly, the 29-year-old could not be saved and he was pronounced dead. He was due to get married next month.

“His friends were in shock for the first minute or so”, Luciano added.

“Then it hit them what was happening, they were emotional and crying.”

In a statement to local media, the National Police said: ”We can confirm that a man suffered some type of medical problem and died at the scene.

“He was treated by those present at the premises and then by the paramedics who responded to the call. The medical causes of the death are unknown.”

An eyewitness said that they saw “several police cars” and two ambulances outside the bar.

Another said they recalled seeing a large amount of blood running from his head.

A friend of the deceased said that he had previously had a heart attack when he was 24.

A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain.”
