One of the men accused of killing a mother and her three children in a house fire in Bradford has died in custody.

Mohammed Shabir, 45, was due to stand trial alongside Sharaz Ali and Calum Sunderland in November. 

<p>The three men denied the murders of Bryonie Gawith, 29, and nine-year-old Denisty, five-year-old Oscar and 22-month old Aubree Birtle, following a blaze on Westbury Road in August 2024.</p><p>The trio also denied the attempted murder of Ms Gawaith's sister, Antonia Gawaith. </p>

<p>Shabir, who lived on Carlby Grove in Keighley, died in HMP Leeds on Wednesday.</p><p>"As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will investigate," a Ministry of Justice spokesman said.</p>
