The prime suspect in the horrific murder of a young mother in Bradford entered the UK on a student visa, GB News can reveal.

Bangladesh born Habibur Masum is wanted for the fatal stabbing of the 27-year-old woman on a main shopping street, as the victim pushed her baby in a pram.

An off duty doctor and passers-by gave the woman first aid until paramedics arrived.

The victim, who police say was known to her alleged attacker, was transferred to hospital, but she later died of her injuries.

Masum, 25, moved to the UK two years ago to study for a Master’s degree in digital marketing at the University of Bedfordshire.

Anyone aged-18 or over granted a student visa for a degree-level qualification can usually stay in the UK for up to five years.

A keen blogger, Masum has his own YouTube account, and regularly posts clips to the site.

He has also posted regularly to his Facebook account, with videos showing him shopping and on trips abroad.

A shopkeeper, who tried to help the victim on Saturday, has said there was nothing that could be done to save her.

Geo Khan spoke of his shock at what he witnessed, after he heard the woman’s screams.

“I was sitting in my shop and heard screaming,” he said.

“I came out and I tried to check the pulse. There was no pulse.

“Blood was all over the floor and there were stab wounds in her neck.”

Khan told reporters that the victim had come into his shop the day before the incident.

He said the baby was about four or five months old and he believed the woman was from Bangladesh and only came to the area a few weeks ago.

Masum was pictured on CCTV, wearing a duffle coat, with three large horizontal lines of grey, white and black, light blue or grey tracksuit bottoms and maroon trainers.

A witness also reported seeing him wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up.

West Yorkshire police said that their prime suspect is believed to have links to the Burnley and Chester areas.

Although a knife was recovered near the murder scene, police said there was a possibility Masum could still be armed.

The public are being warned not to approach him, but if they see the suspect, or have information on his whereabouts, they are being urged to dial 999.

The Home Office has been approached for comment on Masum’s visa status.
