An asylum seeker living in a hotel near Gatwick Airport has been accused of sexually assaulting three women in a three-week period.

Qais Al-Aswad, 26, who resides at Four Points By Sheraton Hotel on Brighton Road in Horley, Surrey pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He entered the pleas at Staines Magistrates' Court, where a trial date was set for August 20.

Al-Aswad is accused of sexually assaulting the women in Horley, Surrey on May 23, June 4 and June 12.

The man has been remanded in custody at HMP Wandsworth and his solicitors have asked for time to apply for Legal Aid.

He requires an Arabic interpreter for the trial.

The man did not appear in court today as HMP Wandsworth had a power outage.

Four star Sheraton Hotel sits just a few kilometres north of Gatwick.

It holds 110 rooms along with a fitness and business centre as well as a TV room.

Several anti-immigration protests have transpired in recent weeks.

The protests are aimed at asylum seeker accommodation across the country with widespread anger over the Goverment's handling of the small boat crisis.

A migrant hotel in Epping has been the subject of protests after an Ethiopian migrant was charged with a series of sexual offences.

Hadush Kebatu, 38, is alleged to have put his hand on a 14-year-old schoolgirl's leg.

Chelmsford Magistrates' Court was told he allegedly asked her for a kiss and suggested they make 'Jamaican babies' in Epping over two days.

The 38-year-old man had arrived in the UK by small boat days earlier - the alleged offences are said to have taken place on July 6 and 9.

The man appeared in court last month and denied three charges of sexual assault against two girls, aged 14 and 16.

He also denied inciting a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity and harassment without violence.

A migrant residing in the same hotel was charged with a number of unrelated offences including sexual assault.

Syrian national Mohammed Sharwarq, also living at the Epping hotel, was hit with seven charges linked to offences alleged to have been committed between July 25 and August 12.

The man is facing two counts of common assault, four counts of assault by beating and a single count of sexual assault on a man, contrary to section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2002.
