A Solihull local has told GB News that Britain is "losing its identity" as he joined protesters outside a migrant hotel.

Speaking to People's Channel reporter Jack Carson, protester Mark declared his concerns for their "community" being slowly eroded by the record-breaking number of migrants entering Britain.

Protests and counter-protests about the use of migrant hotels have taken place today across dozens of cities in the UK, sparking fiery clashes between the two groups.

Solihull resident Mark has hit out at the use of migrant hotels, claiming Britain is 'losing its identity'

Outlining his reasons for attending the protest today, Mark told GB News: "This is our community, and people come to the park here and we're just losing our identity. There are children here, we just can't do the things that we want to do because it just feels unsafe.

"I've got a grandson, we've got veterans here, we've got grandparents here, we've got mothers and fathers that are worried for the communities, and we just want something sorted, and it just seems like nobody's doing anything."

Delivering his verdict on Sir Keir Starmer's "one in, one out" migrant deal with France, Mark criticised the agreement and branded it a "smokescreen".

He stated: "It's a smokescreen. What we've got to do, we've got to stop the boats coming in. Because when they come here, they have to be processed, and it can be for months, it could be for years.

"They say they're doing a quick turnover, there's no such thing as a quick turnover with Starmer. They stay, they get their benefits, they get their phones, and we're paying for this, and we've just had enough. Communities are losing their identity."

Asked by Jack what he believes will make communities in Britain feel safer about the migrant crisis, Mark claimed that the migrants should "not be housed in hotels".

He explained: "They should not be put in a hotel. We're one of the only countries, probably in the world, if not in Europe, that house them in hotels. They come in, it's a luxury for them. We house them, we benefit them, and we give them phones.

"We've got people on the street, we've got people who are poor because of this Government. We just want our people to be put first, and they're not being put first."

Mark told GB News that Keir Starmer's exchange deal with France is a 'smokescreen'

Hitting back at the pro-migrant protesters who claim they are "far-right", Mark declared: "We're not far right, we're far from it.

"We're parents, we're grandparents, we just want our children protected, for their children as well to be protected and feel safe in their own country, and they're not safe."
