Clapham’s chemical attacker Abdul Ezedi threw himself off a bridge and drowned in the River Thames, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.
The 35-year-old injured a mother and two daughters in a horrific corrosive substance attack in Clapham last month, with police locked in a thorough search for the attacker since January 31.
Today, Scotland Yard said their “main working hypothesis” was that the man had gone into the water as the search for Ezedi continued into its tenth day.
The announcement comes after yesterday's release of CCTV imagery that showed the convicted sex offender just south of Chelsea Bridge.
