The nonsense isn’t just on campuses. It’s now being foisted on the youngest — our hope, our future — the innocent lisping toddlers in kindergarten. A friend, determined to torment me even more than the world already does, sent me a link to a horror show called “Woke Kindergarten.” The offense is rank. It turns out to be the pedagogical business of a certain Akiea (“Ki”) Gross, who offers her wares that supposedly help in the education of black children (I didn’t see a single white child in any of her multifarious offerings), and that for a fee are made available to gullible schoolteachers and school boards from sea to shining sea.
I’ve put a few links to some of her offerings below. Feel free to torment yourself by looking at as many as you can stand.. But at the very top I’ve put a link to a brief appearance on YouTube of “Ki” that sums up succinctly her views — not terribly pleasant, I’m afraid — about Israel and America that “y’all” need to know have no right to exist, and must disappear. So off we go.
Start here:
Just a bit about the views of Woke Kindergarten’s founder, sole owner, genius domus, primum mobile, promoter, flogging her wares like a carney-barker at a country fair, can be found here:
Akiea (“Ki”), please remember, boys and girls, is non-binary.
On her website, she says that “Woke Kindergarten is a global, abolitionist early childhood ecosystem and visionary creative portal supporting children, families, educators and organizations in their commitment to abolitionist early education and pro-black and queer and trans liberation.”
Ms. Gross (they/them) describes herself as “an abolitionist early educator, cultural organizer and creator currently innovating ways to resist, heal, liberate and create with their pedagogy.”
In social media posts, she has stated:
I believe that the United States has no right to exist. I believe that every settler colony who has committed genocide against native peoples, against indigenous people, has no right to exist. Y’all are the villains. We’ve been trying to end y’all. Get free of y’all.
I believe in a free Palestine from the river to the sea.
When I think of a world without state violence, I think of a world free of the U.S. empire. I think about a world free of Israel.
I think about land back to indigenous peoples globally. I think about the fact that we would not have to participate in these systems, because none of these systems would exist. That means kids wouldn’t have to go to school because the world would ultimately be their classroom.”
And here is what “Ki” offers to black children as a way to “disrupt whiteness”:
Woke Kindergarten: Who We Are?
Having managed to extract $250,000 in Federal funding from Glassbrook Elementary in Hayward, California, assuring the gullible that “Woke Kindergarten” would be sure to improve the children’s test scores, Woke Kindergarten proved to be a complete waste. Student scores actually decreased. More on this unsurprising result can be found here.
I have one question: does Akiea (“Ki”) Gross get to keep the money?
