I don’t know what to say about this. Secretaries of defense are human beings, but there’s a larger trend toward a much older leadership and whether it’s Biden or Secretary of Defense Austin, it comes with certain health issues.

What should be clear is that this kind of situation does not impress our enemies or reassure our allies. With conflicts breaking out, the Pentagon should not be run from a hospital bed. We should be projecting strength.

This isn’t it.

Today, at approximately 2:20 pm, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III was transported by his security detail to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to be seen for symptoms suggesting an emergent bladder issue. The Deputy Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been notified. Additionally, White House and Congressional notifications have occurred.

At this time, the Secretary is retaining the functions and duties of his office. The Deputy Secretary is prepared to assume the functions and duties of the Secretary of Defense, if required. Secretary Austin traveled to the hospital with the unclassified and classified communications systems necessary to perform his duties.

Austin should step down, at least on a temporary basis, until his medical issues, and his deputy, a politically correct bureaucrat with no combat experience, who stayed on vacation last time this happened, shouldn’t be his replacement.

This isn’t even political, it’s just sane.

It sends a terrible message to our troops, our allies and our enemies when Austin is once again heading the Pentagon from a hospital bed.

We wouldn’t send men into combat in this condition, what in the world makes us think that the men at the top can be in this condition?
