After fixing the climate by throwing soup at the Mona Lisa, vandalizing Degas’s Little Dancer, and assaulting various classic masterpieces across Europe, more leftists are learning to solve problems by wrecking art.
Now everyone is getting in on the act.
An artist in France said he will destroy paintings by icons Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and others using acid if WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange dies in prison.
Considering the artistic contributions of Warhol and Picasso, this seems like a win-win scenario.
Andrei Molodkin, an artist in the south of France, is planning to destroy up to $45 million worth of masterpieces that have been donated to him.
Molodkin said he put the paintings in a 29-ton safe that is connected to two barrels. One barrel contains acid powder, while the other holds accelerators. When pumped together into the safe, the reaction will be powerful enough to destroy all of the masterpieces, according to Sky News.
The initiative is backed by Julian Assange’s wife, Stella, and is dubbed “Dead Man’s Switch.”
This seems like a plan that someone came up with by doing drugs while watching James Bond movies. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kim Dotcom came up with this idea while temporarily having his oxygen cut off by choking on a ham sandwich.
How is this supposed to work exactly? The US will stop trying to get custody of Assange to stop a bunch of soup cans from getting destroyed? Or maybe federal prison guards will watch over Assange so he doesn’t get shiived by a mafia accountant for fear that the soup cans will get it.
Molodkin said the safe will be attached to a 24-hour timer that will have to be reset every day. If not, it substances from both barrels will be released and destroy the art. He said the safe in his studio will be sealed Friday and later transported to a museum.
Considering that Molodkin, a Russian conceptual artist of the kind everyone hates, is older than Assange, this seems like it’s more like the art will be destroyed when he dies, not when Assange does, which is exactly what an egomaniacal narcissist who lives off the attention of others would do.
And since he’s a conceptual artist, I’m assuming that there’s no actual art in there, just a bid for attention.
