Criminal justice reform dismantled our criminal justice system by claiming that it was racist. These pro-crime policies unleashed a world of terror, killed thousands of people and made our cities too dangerous to live in.
This is just the latest of these stories. It’s the story of what happens when the criminal justice system won’t do its job. And that leaves a black 11-year-old trying to step in where an empty prison system, police with their hands tied behind their backs and a Soros DA left him to fight and die for his mother’s life.
As Chicago’s top cop announced charges Friday against a convicted felon accused of repeatedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend and killing her 11-year-old son, he repeatedly said the attack “should’ve never happened.”
But Police Supt. Larry Snelling and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx couldn’t explain why Crosetti Brand, 37, was released from the Stateville Correctional Center on Tuesday after having been sent back to prison earlier this year for menacing the pregnant woman while on parole.
On Wednesday morning, he allegedly forced his way into her home in the 5900 block of North Ravenswood Avenue and carried out the brutal attack. Officials said the 11-year-old, Jaydone Perkins, was stabbed to death trying to defend his mother. His 5-year-old brother was also in the home.
Brand has a long criminal history that includes convictions for violating orders of protection. Yet he wasn’t charged with violating what Foxx described as a “lifetime” order protecting the woman after the alleged confrontation last month.
Foxx, a Soros DA, has presided over a reign of terror in Chicago in the name of protecting monsters. And when the system fails, because it cares more about criminals, an 11-year-old boy had to step in.
But just hours after being released from Stateville, the maximum security prison in Crest Hill, Ursitti said Brand returned to the woman’s home as she was getting her children ready for school.
The woman, who is four months pregnant, was stabbed multiple times and Jaydone was killed while coming to her aid, officials said. Her 5-year-old son was inside the apartment, officials said.
Video footage showed Brand running from the scene with a knife, Ursitti said. He was arrested hours later at his home on the South Side, and a weapon was recovered.
Don’t look away. This is criminal justice reform. Whatever lie the politicians, Democrat or Republican, tell, how it just helps the wrongly punished, how it cleans up unfair laws and how those it helps will never be a threat to society, it’s a lie.
This is what criminal justice reform is.
