Expect a liberal implosion when Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s new Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director — or “border czar” — begins mass deportations of illegal aliens immediately after Inauguration Day.

Homan has promised to target all non-criminal aliens who entered the country illegally, regardless of criminal status.

The Left has already sounded the alarm bells, predicting concentration camps, screaming children as they are pulled from frantic parents; ICE storm troopers entering houses and workspaces with guns drawn in search of illegal migrants who only wanted a better life for themselves but who are now being hunted down like wounded animals — or so the legacy media will report.

This highly dramatic Democrat scenario is meant to pull at the heartstrings and to get Americans to have a Hallmark Card moment and say, “Enough, let these people stay…if only for the sake of the children.”

Speaking of the children, a federal judge—U.S. District Court Judge J. Campbell Barker—struck down a Biden administration program (“Keeping Families Together”) shortly after the November 5 election. The Biden program would have allowed illegal aliens married to American citizens to stay in the country and obtain legal status; as a bonus it offered them a fast-track to U.S. citizenship.

Barker declared “Keeping Families Together” violated U.S. immigration law. Similar challenges were successful in more than a dozen other Republican states.

The Homan policy, however, will not separate children from families but deport children and parents together. Homan, President-elect Trump’s former acting U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement director, also has plans to cut funds to “sanctuary states” like California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, and New York.

After years of abusing and turning the immigration world upside down — there are at least 11million illegal aliens living in the U.S. — Democrats are now ready to cry foul when Homan prepares to apply a “fix.”

Homan proposes cutting off federal funding to states that do not cooperate when the deportation begins. Democrat-run cities like Los Angeles have already passed a “sanctuary city” ordinance forbidding the use of city resources to assist federal immigration authorities when the time comes. Other cities are sure to follow.

In Nevada, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto has called on President Biden to extend deportation protections for those 13 million illegal aliens.

In Philadelphia, Axios reported that Mayor Cherelle Parker “wavered about whether she would fight to preserve fight Philly’s ‘sanctuary city’ status to protect undocumented immigrants.” This might be especially problematic for Parker since Philadelphia has relied on federal money to keep it sustainable.

If the city opts to keep its “sanctuary city” status it risks losing federal funding.

“I don’t know what will happen in the future,” the mayor said. “We will make sure that we are prepared to address issues that will come before us.”

But grandstanding leftist “heroes” like Mayor Mike Johnston of Denver has vowed to go the civil disobedience route in standing up to Homan’s clean-up crew by promising to station police officers at county lines to halt federal forces from coming in to deport “undocumented immigrants” in his city.

Johnston, the 46th mayor of Denver, is a Yale Law School and Harvard School of Education graduate. He grew up in Vail, Colorado — much of Vail is car-free, with heated walkways and cobblestone streets connecting ski shops and boutiques — where he enjoyed skiing before paying his virtue-signaling “dues” teaching school in the Mississippi Delta as part of the Teach for America Program. He returned to the Rocky Mountain high state to continue his work in education, becoming the principal of three schools before running for the Colorado Senate in 2009.

Mike Johnston is clearly on a fast track to become “somebody” in Democrat politics. The best way to do that is to challenge Donald Trump.

As of January 2024 there were 4600 illegal aliens sheltered in Denver with at least 200 arriving on a daily basis. More than 38,000 migrants have been “served” by Denver since 2022, making it the largest U.S. city with the highest migrant population (roughly 5% of residents). Denver’s system of assimilating illegal aliens can be traced to the endless nonprofits there eager to help with housing.

In 2023, Denver’s problem was not illegals but homeless encampments. The city spent $45 million to close city encampments and get the homeless off the streets.

Johnston’s threat to challenge Homan is typical of woke arrogance, privilege and posturing. In many ways, Johnston and Democrat Governors like Maura Healey of Massachusetts, Phil Murphy of New Jersey and JB Pritzker of Illinois — all of whom vowed to fight Homan’s illegal alien deportation plans in different ways — are living in the pre-2024 election world where challenging Trump often meant you could be declared the “winner.”

But with Tom Homan at the helm, they are likely to see a far different result.

As Homan told Sean Hannity on Fox News:

But look, me and the Denver mayor, we agree on one thing — he’s willing to go to jail, I’m willing to put him in jail because there there’s a statute. It’s Title 8 United States Code 1324 (iii). And what it says is it’s a felony if you knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien from immigration authorities. It’s also a felony to impede a federal law enforcement officer.

And so there it is: legal scripture if you will, the same hardnosed philosophy that Homan employed when he was recruited by that Democrat-of-all-Democrats, Barack Obama, to be the head of ICE’s deportation branch in 2013. A job he performed so well it won him the Presidential Rank Award, the highest civil service recognition in the nation.

So expect a huge operatic outcry of “Inhumane!” when Homan begins mass deportations in early 2025.

Democrats will wail on TV and in the halls of Congress, citing crimes against humanity, all the while conveniently forgetting that they were the architects of a disaster that didn’t have to be.
