NextImg:Sotomayor Took Millions from Ex-Nazi Publisher While Voting on its Cases

The Left’s war on the Supreme Court heated up in recent weeks with lefty nonprofits and media outlets running hit pieces falsely claiming that conservative justices had somehow done something corrupt by accepting gifts from friends who did not actually have business before the court. This smear campaign led the media to harass Justice Clarence Thomas’ mother and now to go after his grandson. That’s four generations of harassment.

The Democrat media and its activist class have been howling that the Supreme Court is corrupt and illegitimate. Dem politicians have called for ethical standards and congressional reviews of the court.

Meanwhile, as Luke Rosiak notes, Justice Sotomayor was taking millions and voting on cases involving an ex-Nazi publisher.

Liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor declined to recuse herself from multiple copyright infringement cases involving book publisher Penguin Random House despite having been paid millions by the firm for her books, making it by far her largest source of income, records show.

In 2010, she got a $1.2 million book advance from Knopf Doubleday Group, a part of the conglomerate. In 2012, she reported receiving two advance payments from the publisher totaling $1.9 million.

In 2013, Sotomayor voted in a decision for whether the court should hear a case against the publisher called Aaron Greenspan v. Random House, despite then-fellow Justice Stephen Breyer recusing after also receiving money from the publisher…

In October 2019, children’s author Jennie Nicassio petitioned the Supreme Court to hear her lawsuit against Penguin Random House alleging that the book publisher had copied her book by selling one that was nearly identical. On the same day that the petition was distributed to the justices, Sotomayor received a $10,586 check from the publisher.

On February 24, 2020, the Supreme Court voted not to hear the case, denying the “writ of certiorari” and meaning that the case would remain where it left off — with a circuit court having found in the publisher’s favor. Sotomayor’s next check, coming in May of that year, was her largest ever from the parent company, at $82,807…

Penguin Random House is not just any company, it’s owned by Bertelsmann, a German mega-publisher with a Nazi past that is the main source of wokeness in the publishing industry, putting out Ibram X. Kendi, Robin DiAngeloa’s White Fragility and threatening parents who wanted hate and porn out of their schools.

Ibram X. Kendi’s “How to Be an Antiracist”, Robin DiAngelo’s “White Fragility”, and Ta-Nehisi Coates’s “Between the World and Me” all have one publisher in common.

Bertelsmann, the German giant, which formerly used to put out “The Christmas Book of the Hitler Youth”, has become the leading publisher and distributor of some of the most famous and influential racist woke books.

That includes promoting Ta-Nehisi Coates’s claim in “Between the World and Me” that the 9/11 firefighters and police officers were “menaces of nature” and “not human to me” to 9th graders and Robin DiAngelo’s racist “White Fragility” whose message, as CNN summed up, is that “if you’re a white person… you’re a racist.”

Not satisfied with pushing racism, Bertelsmann has also been involved in the controversy over sexualizing children.

“Beyond Magenta”, which describes 8-year-olds having sex and contains the sentence, “from six and up, I used to kiss other guys in my neighborhood, make out with them, and perform oral sex on them”, has been protested by parents.

And there’s more.

Some of the copyright cases posed a limited threat to the Bertelsmann empire, but its recent litigation over an attempt to take over American publishing by swallowing up Simon and Schuster could have potentially gone to the Supreme Court. And the Court would have a woke puppet on the bench.

Sotomayor inappropriately voted on cases involving her biggest source of cash while the media keeps trying to go after conservative justices.
