On September 6, 2025, the American Freedom Alliance (AFA) awarded its Hero of Conscience Award to Jihad Watch director Robert Spencer at its Heroes of Conscience Gala in Los Angeles. Frank Gaffney presented the award to Robert Spencer.

The AFA referred to the event as “a joyous celebration of courage and country,” and stated: “An exuberant crowd came together Saturday evening at the Hilton Los Angeles-Universal City to celebrate Robert Spencer and Dr. John Eastman, to be entertained by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, and wowed by David Mamet,” the famed screenwriter and director who was the keynote speaker.
