There are a lot of really awful Soros DAs out there, but Alameda’s DA Pamela Price is really in her own special category. Not even Chesa Boudin, George Gascon or Alvin Bragg can compete with her sheer incompetence, her blatant racism, overt contempt for victims and the media, and general stupidity.
DA Pamela Price is so epically bad that she managed to get Asians to go out and protest her after she gave a pass to the thugs who shot Jasper Wu, a toddler, and then insulted the Asian community.
Price then sent a hostile email blasting Asian-American critics as ignorant of “constitutional law” and argued that the gang members are “presumed innocent”. Then she accused Asian-Americans complaining about her pro-crime policies of “mob violence” and claimed that “as a descendant of people in this country who were historically subjected to mob violence in the form of lynchings, racist profiling and wrongful convictions, I am particularly sensitive to the danger of this type of comment” and proposed a forum to “better educate” Asian Americans.
After deciding to give a pass to the shooter of a Home Depot employee (much as in the Jasper Wu case, the perps were members of the same race as DA Price and the victim wasn’t), his mother went to Congress and got sympathy from, of all people, Rep. Eric Swalwell. How bad do you have to be that Fang Fang’s boyfriend has turned on you? So bad that the media has turned on DA Price.
Witness this interview with the local CBS affiliate.
“I feel, definitely, my heart goes out to people who have lost loved ones in this community,” Price said. “We at the district attorney’s office are very, very committed to making sure that we’re providing the best services for victims and so some people are not able to actually appreciate the work that we do.”
“The DA’s role has really no impact on crime. To create a safe community, we need to invest in alternatives to incarceration.”
Soros DAs try to dress up the sheer destructive pro-crime nihilism of their movement, but Price comes out and says that her office can’t do anything to stop crime and that the only way to do that is to provide more social services and let criminals off the hook. Sure, Soros DAs believe this, but few say it this openly in an interview where she’s being asked about the families of the victims speaking out against her.
“Any time that we can divert someone from the criminal justice system, that is a goal because the criminal justice system has shown to be racially biased,” Price said. “Often what studies have shown — and it’s true in Alameda County — many times people who are perpetrators or labeled as perpetrators were actually victims.”
That presumably includes the thugs who murdered a 2-year-old Asian boy and a Home Depot employee.
According to DA Price, the criminal justice system is racist and the only anti-racist thing to do is to stop locking up murderers.
Could it get worse from here?
Less than halfway into a 15-minute interview, Price’s PR person Patti Lee pressed this reporter to ask about Price’s accomplishments.
“I’m sorry to interrupt. I don’t think you asked about the achievements of the first six months,” Lee said.
When asked what metrics Price is using to gauge her success, the district attorney replied that the office needs to establish them.
Price blames her problems on Republicans. “Republicans” like the mother of the Home Depot employee, Blake Mohs, and… Rep. Eric Swalwell.
Critics say Price has categorically pushed for the shortest possible sentences.
“There’s a lot of families that are victims of Pamela Price and the system that she’s trying to create and it will be three months on Tuesday of my son’s death,” said Lori Mohs.
A KPIX report featuring the Mohs family caught the attention of lawmakers in the United States Capitol, where Lori Mohs recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee.
“Can you also tell us — you have this public forum, a forum that you never wanted — but to the prosecutors in this case, I hope they’re listening to this, what do you want to see as an outcome?” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-California) asked in that meeting.
“We should be charging this case appropriately and we should be charging the case based on facts and not personal opinion or personal agenda,” Mohs said. “We should be using the judicial system as it should be used, not for personal gain but for the safety of our communities and our children. By not charging the proper ‘gun’ which is discharge and death, Benicia Knapps will serve much less of a sentence and the DA’s office is refusing to do so. It’s not fair that we have to be victimized again.”
Somehow Price responds to this by explaining that she can’t process words.
“Since I haven’t had any conversation with her, reading me some statement that she made — I think that’s not fair,” Price replied when asked to respond to Mohs’ statement.
Price said she was a visual person and would have to watch the statement. When Price was asked if she’d like to view the testimony on YouTube, the district attorney responded “no.”
This is so unbelievably bad public relations that it boggles the mind. It goes to show how lefties are so insulated from being asked questions that they can’t address them. And DA Price is particularly awful.
After this reporter said, “I hope that, moving forward, we will have more access to you,” Price responded “I doubt it, quite frankly” and laughed. She stated that it was because she is busy.
Family members say they have not been able to meet with Price since Mohs’s passing, even after repeated attempts to reach her directly.
Pamela Price is the Kamala Harris of Soros DAs, but unlike Kamala she comes off as actually malignant. She’s a hard test for what people are willing to put up from racist pro-crime activist prosecutors and people seem to be reaching their limit.
