When it comes to the next election, Republicans talk and Democrats act. You want to see what their plan is for winning in 2024 even if Biden can’t manage to walk, drool or feed himself? Feast your eyes on this.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro announced Tuesday that his state has now become the latest to enact automatic voter registration, saying that “No matter who you choose to vote for or what your views are, I hope you’ll make your voice heard.”
As long as they’re the right sort of views.
“From now on, when you get or renew your driver’s license or an ID card at the DMV, you’ll be registered to vote unless you choose not to,” Shapiro said.
“And by expanding voter registration at our DMVs, we’ll save taxpayers time and money, reduce the number of costly paper registrations and streamline voter registration for Pennsylvanians,” he added.
And eliminate minor matters like accountability and transparency while vastly inflating voter rolls. But at least all of those illegals that Biden is shepherding across the border will have the chance to “have their voices heard” courtesy of the ballot harvesters of their choice.
This is part of the plan for 2024 and they’re not subtle about it.
Democrats marked National Voter Registration Day across the country Tuesday, including in Pennsylvania, where Vice President Kamala Harris highlighted the move by the commonwealth’s governor to make registration automatic.
“For everyone who has not yet registered, please use the celebration of today as a way to get registered,” Harris said during an event at Reading Area Community College.
“I also want to give a shout out to the governor, because today they have announced that if — when you renew or when you apply for your driver’s license or state ID — you’re automatically registered to vote. So let’s make sure that we let everybody know,” Harris said.
The conservative Election Transparency initiative, which is a partnership between the American Principles Project and the anti-abortion rights group SBA Pro-Life America, criticized Shapiro’s move.
“If you want to increase the likelihood of fraud, multiple or duplicate registrations, and participation of ineligible voters — such as non-citizens and illegal aliens, temporary residents, and convicted felons — look no further than the process of dumping government data onto the voter rolls,” the group’s chairman, former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, said in a statement. Cuccinelli is also the founder of the Never Back Down super PAC supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential bid.
Well, those are the goals here.
Look at the speed with which Dems rolled out automatic voter registration to understand the scale and sophistication of the machine.
As recently as 2015, automatic voter registration did not exist in the United States. Yet today, 16 states plus the District of Columbia have enacted… This year alone, AVR bills have been introduced in 39 states.1 Where they can’t convince the legislature, AVR advocates sometimes take their case to the people — Alaska, Michigan and Nevada have all enacted the policy via ballot measure. And someday, AVR could become a national mandate: It was a centerpiece of H.R. 1, the voting-rights bill passed earlier this year by the newly Democratically controlled U.S. House of Representatives.
You either have a plan to win or to complain about the outcome.
These days the Dems have a plan to win (no matter how they have to do it) and Republicans have a plan to complain about the outcome.
Watch Dems take automatic voter registration from a niche fantasy to being embedded in swing states in a handful of years and you’re watching one side playing chess against another side that’s barely playing checkers.
Can this stuff be fought? Yes. But that would require organization, a massive effort, and a plan. Losing is safer.
Go back and read that sentence again. “As recently as 2015, automatic voter registration did not exist in the United States.” Do you think that they’re going to stop there? They’re thinking big. Republicans aren’t.
