NextImg:Pelosi: "Interesting To See How Similar" Trump Indictment is to Proposed House Dem Charges

As I noted yesterday, the media is openly talking about the similarity between the House Democrat J6 committee and the Jack Smith indictment.

Trump Jan. 6 Indictment Relies Heavily on House Panel’s Work – New York Times

The partisan Democrat J6 committee, the paper tells us “provided a road map of sorts for the 45-page indictment Mr. Smith released on Tuesday.”

Soumya Dayananda, a senior investigator for the House Democrat Jan. 6 panel, says “in a lot of ways, the committee’s work provided this path.”

“Mr. Smith’s document — while far slimmer than the 845-page tome produced by the House investigative committee — contained a narrative that was nearly identical,” the article contends. The Democrat committee’s “final report laid out specific criminal charges that a prosecutor could bring against the former president.”

“Mr. Smith brought charges that had been recommended by the committee, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of an act of Congress and conspiracy to make a false statement. He added an accusation of deprivation of rights under the color of law.”

Now here’s Pelosi talking about the fact that the Jack Smith J6 indictment is just the same J6 committee stuff that had been laundered into a prosecutorial forum.

“It’s interesting to see how similar they are to some of the charges recommended by the January 6 committee and I commend, again, the committee,” Pelosi said. “I’m so proud of them.”

“Interesting” is one word. Totalitarian, corrupt and an attack on the political system would be some others.

We’ve become a Latin American banana republic where politicians from one party recommend charges against members of another party, and the prosecutors who are members of the same party, eagerly take up the task.

And Pelosi is proud of that.
