Patriotism is the last refuge of a leftist coward.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, trying to at once lay the groundwork for his 2028 presidential campaign and manage a state of rioting leftists, tried to invoke the Founding Fathers in his attack on the Trump administration’s crackdown on pro-illegal rioters.

Newsom previously had as much to do with the Founding Fathers as he did with the Hammurabi Code.

The riots are not about ICE. The enforcement of immigration laws is just a visible symbol of America’s borders. The riots are about dismantling America. That’s why the rioters wave Mexican and Jihadist flags. They and the organizations behind them have made it abundantly clear that they believe America is an illegitimate entity and that it ought to be dismantled and destroyed.

Invoking the Founding Fathers to promote the destruction of America is the kind of thing Obama would do. But Newsom lacks Obama’s skills when it comes to rhetoric. He’s not nearly as bad as Kamala, but he has the peculiar gift that everything he says sounds fake.

Especially when a man whose only past allegiance has been to the Gettys, Hollywood and wine county, in that order, who signed illegal treaties with enemy nations like China, pretends to be patriotic.
