After three university presidents refused to state that calling for Jewish genocide was incompatible with appropriate behavior on campus, it was inevitable that the Left would choose Harvard President Claudine Gay as its battlefield.
Gay had something that the other two presidents didn’t (besides shameless plagiarism and being hand-picked by Penny Pritzker).
NAACP President Derrick Johnson spelled it out, “Enough is enough. Harvard President Claudine Gay is a distinguished scholar and professor with decades of service in higher education. The recent attacks on her leadership are nothing more than political theatrics advancing a white supremacist agenda.”
Johnson added that, “To the members of Congress who spend countless hours and taxpayer dollars for personal gain – it’s time to stop the theatrics and start doing your jobs. Black America isn’t buying into your game, and we sure won’t stand for your perpetuation of misogynoir (sic).”
Opposing Jewish genocide is apparently a “white supremacist agenda”.
Now, Johnson thinks a lot of unexpected things are racist. Like innovation. “Innovation has long been a driver behind wealth concentration, racial division, a rise in hate speech, the erosion of privacy, and the fight for democracy. We must ensure that safeguards are put in place to address the issues that are top of mind for black America.”
It doesn’t take much to get Johnson to call something racist or white supremacist. But Johnson also demonstrated why Gay was where the pro-genocide left wanted to fight. While three university presidents did it, only one of them had a defense system built in so that opposing Jewish genocide became “white supremacist” and “misogynoir”.
If opposing Jewish genocide is white supremacist then supporting it must be anti-racist.
