This fairly well-known story about the breakup of Doug Emhoff’s marriage dropped over the weekend.

Kamala Harris’s husband’s first marriage ended after he got his children’s nanny pregnant, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff cheated on his first wife Kerstin with the blonde nanny, who also taught at their children’s pricey private school.

And the twist is there was a child.

A close friend with direct knowledge of the affair and pregnancy told DailyMail.com that Naylor did not keep the child – though her social media shows a video of a mysterious baby girl named Brook in 2009, the year the baby would have been born.

Another friend, Stacey Brooks, who mothered twin boys around the same time as Naylor was expecting, also did not deny any of the claims – but said she would not divulge further information without Naylor’s permission.

In September 2009 Naylor posted a video on Facebook to ‘introduce’ three babies: Sawyer, Brook, and George, with the caption ‘Baby party!’.

Sawyer and George are the boys of Brooks, who has been her close friend since childhood in Columbus, Ohio. Those children were born in July 2009.

The third child, Brook, who appears slightly younger, does not appear to be Stacey’s daughter, and is not in any of her later Facebook family photos. It is unclear who Brook’s mother is.

Notably nobody is denying any of this. Emhoff’s people issued a statement ‘exclusively’ to CNN.

“During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side,” Emhoff said in a statement.

I’m not sure what ‘worked through things’ means when the two of you are divorced, but I also don’t care much.

If the accounts of a child were fake, Emhoff could have easily denied them and ridiculed the Daily Mail. Or outsourced the job to the media. He didn’t. That doesn’t mean it’s true, but it also doesn’t help.

Considering Kamala’s time with Willie Brown, I doubt anyone is really shocked or expecting higher standards from this couple, but it still may be the case that the prospective First Gentleman fathered a child who’s out there and the same media that chases down every made-up Trump rumor hardly bothers to mention it. If Trump or Vance had a love child somewhere, 40 camera crews would have been parked by their front door in 15 minutes. Instead, no one except the Daily Mail is going to bother Naylor.
