NextImg:Lizzo Stands Up For ‘Palestine’

[Order David Horowitz’s new book, America Betrayed, HERE.]

Lizzo — she’s mononymous — is apparently some kind of rap singer. If, like me, you had never heard of her, you can see her performance on YouTube here.

That is one way to take the full measure of her idiocy. Another is to read about her here, where she thanks the pro-Hamas campus nitwits for denouncing Israel and standing up for “Palestine”: “Lizzo Thanks Pro-Palestinian Activists, Anti-Israel College Protesters While Accusing Jewish State of ‘Genocide,’” by Shiryn Ghermezian, Algemeiner, May 15, 2024:

Lizzo on Monday thanked activists who are protesting on behalf of “Palestine” and other regions in the world, and added that student-led, anti-Israel protests taking place on college and university campuses across the US are “deeply important.”

Do you think that Lizzo, with an I.Q., I’d estimate, of 85, knows where “Palestine” is? Do you think she knows what the Palestine Mandate is, or when and why the “Palestinian people” were invented? Do you think she knows when Jews were first living in Judea? Or knows who started the three wars Israel had to fight for its survival in 1948, 1967, and 1973? Do you think she knows what is in the Hamas Charter about what will happen to the Jews in present-day Israel? ? In the endlessly chanted phrase “from the river to the sea/Palestine will be free” does she know what is the “river” and what is the “sea”?

Lizzo knows nothing about any of these things; I doubt if she has heard of Mahmoud Abbas or Yahya Sinwar or even Benjamin Netanyahu. She is of the very firm opinion, however, that Israel is the aggressor and Hamas is the “resistance” movement that all right-thinking people should support. She expects us to listen to her opinion with respect. She’s a rap singer with lots of music awards, so we should listen carefully to what she has to say about the war in Gaza. She’s a classic case of the Dunning-Kruger effect, defined as “a cognitive bias in which people with limited competence in a particular domain overestimate their abilities.” Boy, does she overestimate.

The singer, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, said in a video message on her Instagram page that she wanted “to take a second and give a personal thank-you to all of the activists who have been working tirelessly to help the liberation and the freedom of the people who have been genocided [sic] all over the world, specifically Palestine, Sudan, and the Congo.”

Does Lizzo know who has been deliberately killing civilians in “Palestine” — that is, Israel — during the past 75 years? Does she know that in Sudan Arabs have been killing black Africans? Does she know about the hundreds of thousands of black Africans currently enslaved by Arab masters in Mali, in Mauritania, in Niger?

The About Damn Time singer said that because she “has worked closely with activists” in the past, she knows “the toll it can take on your mental and your physical [health], and it can feel thankless.”

“So if you haven’t heard today [sic], thank you,” she added. “Your work is not in vain. You have helped so many people. You have saved literal [sic] lives.”

How were those “literal lives” saved, exactly? Did those campus dopes change anything in the war in Gaza? They had fun pretending to be brave warriors screaming at the top of their lungs for the Right Side — that of Hamas — but they had no effect in Gaza. And a good thing too, because they were standing up for, chanting their support for, Hamas, the genocidal terror group.

Lizzo then went on to discuss how she pulled away from the spotlight over the last year because she was in a “deep dark depression,” battling some “mental health crises and episodes.” The singer was sued in August by three of her former dancers for allegedly creating a hostile work environment and other wrongdoings, including sexual harassment and religious and racial discrimination….

Hmm. “Sued by three of her former dancers.” “Hostile work environment and other wrongdoings.” “Sexual harassment.” “Religious and racial discrimination.” Sounds most unpleasant this Lizzo, doesn’t she? Don’t take my word for it. Take the word of three of her former dancers.

Between the loss I experienced in my personal life and the state of the world, I had been rendered into an emotional state where I cannot process or handle anything. It was very dark,” Lizzo said in her video message. The Truth Hurts singer then explained that the efforts by activists around the world motivated her “to get my ass up [sic] and get back to who I am.”

“Get back to who I am”? Who are you, Lizzo? We already know your intellectual level. We’ve seen your command — that is, your lack of command — of English. We know three of your dancers are suing you for creating a “hostile work environment” and “sexual harassment, as well as “religious and racial discrimination,” in a case that is bound to dent your popularity. We understand just how little you know about Israel and the Palestinians. Nothing. You know nothing. And as Shakespeare said — have you heard of him, Lizzo? — “nothing will come of nothing.”

She continued on to thank the many “anti-genocide, anti-war” student-led protests taking place on college and university campuses in the US. “What these students have done and are doing is so deeply important,” she said. “I can’t even express it in one video.”

What those students did, according to Lizzo, who admits that she “can’t even express it in one video,” is “deeply important.” They marched around. They screamed at Jewish students, holding one or two briefly hostage. They chanted “from the river to the sea/Palestine will be free,” that is, a call for Israel’s destruction and for its replacement by a 23rd Arab state. They yelled “No to genocide,” aiming at Israel, but the only “genocide” has been that begun by Hamas on October 7. They took over campus buildings and refused to leave. They set up sprawling tent encampments in the middle of well-manicured college greens and refused to take them down. They felt very virtuous. They had absolutely no effect on the war in Gaza. But so what? They are still feeling great. They made a difference.

Lizzo concluded her video by mentioning the work of Operation Olive Branch, a volunteer-led grassroots aid organization that supports and helps secure aid to Palestinian families. She said she is talking to other activists and will soon share “more information on how you can help these ongoing genocides in the world, because we ain’t free until we all free.”

Yes, we all want to know, as Lizzo so eloquently puts it, how we “can help those ongoing genocides in the world,” because “we ain’t free till we all [sic] free.” This grotesque creature should offer to take in a dozen or two Palestinians, and put them up indefinitely in her house or guest house, so that she can deliver her support — room and board — to them directly. If they get bored, they can always admire her unforgettable performances here and here.

Take a look yourself. You won’t regret it.
