Being a patient in a hospital Is stressful enough. For Jewish patients in UK hospitals, there is the added anxiety of possibly receiving subpar treatment from antisemitic and anti-Israel medical staff. More on the problem, and attempts to address it, can be found here: “Anti-Israel Bias in UK Hospitals Alarms Jewish Patients, Fueling Fears of Global Trend,” by David Swindle, Algemeiner, August 20, 2025:

Two recent incidents at hospitals in the UK fit a troubling pattern of Jews feeling unsafe due to medical professionals expressing antisemitism or even outright threats of death against Israelis.

The University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH Trust) has issued an apology following a patient’s complaints about the placement of anti-Israel posters at a facility.

“I’m an outpatient but God forbid in other circumstances to feel so vulnerable already and be surrounded by hostility would be so scary,” the unnamed female patient told the group UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI), fearful of receiving subpar treatment if the hospital staff discovered she was Jewish. “I shouldn’t have to remove my Star of David necklace to go to a hospital visit.”

The poster read:

Israel is starving and killing Palestinians in Gaza.

The Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has since May delivered more than 100 million meals to the people of Gaza; that does not sound as though Israel “is starving Palestinians in Gaza.” The Gazans being killed are members of the terror group Hamas, and those civilians who, because Hamas deliberately embeds itself among them, become the unavoidable collateral damage of such a war, despite the terrific efforts made by the IDF to warn civilians away from sites about to be targeted.

Children are being slaughtered beyond measure.

Children are not “being slaughtered beyond measure.” The latest figures suggest that of 2.2 million Gazans, a total of 17,000 civilians have so far died as a result of the war; the other casualties have either been Hamas combatants, and civilians who have died from accidents and disease — that is, from non-combat-related causes. Of those 17,000, perhaps a third — less than 5,700 — have been children who, despite the IDF’s best efforts to warn civilians away from danger, were nonetheless struck during the nearly two years of the Gaza war. That does not constitute a “slaughter beyond measure.”

We have a voice, they [the Gazans] don’t.

Nonsense. The Gazans have not just a “voice,” but an electronically-amplified scream being heard worldwide. The people of Gaza have become the focus of world attention — at the UN, at the EU, at the OIC, in all the chanceries of Europe, and above all, in the international media, where tens of thousands of stories about the plight of the Gazans have appeared, and on social media, where Gazans tell their own tales. Neither the truly starving people of Sudan, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and northern Nigeria, receive anything like the attention paid to those supposedly “voiceless” Gazans, nor has the world given much attention to the black Africans still enslaved by Arab masters in Mali, Mauritania, and Niger. It is these people, and not the Gazans, who “do not have a voice.”

We are the generation that can influence the system & government.

What can this possibly mean? Apparently no one who has come before us, the enlightened young in the UK who have refused to accept Zionist propaganda, has been able to “influence the system & government” on behalf of the Gazans. What nonsense. Hasn’t Starmer, subject to pressure from British Muslims and the far-left anti-Israel brigades, just promised to recognize a “Palestinian state”? Hasn’t Foreign Minister David Lammy, like Starmer subject to pressure from Muslims now living in the UK, put an embargo on certain military supplies for Israel?

The poster goes on to say “Free Palestine,” a slogan that, rightly understood, means the destruction of Israel, the killing or expulsion of its Jewish inhabitants, and its replacement by a 23rd Arab state. Then comes “End Zionism.” This succinct final statement on the sinister lists affixed to the walls of hospital corridors means this: alone among the peoples of the earth, the Jews are to be denied their own state.

As soon as the posters were brought to their attention, the executives of UCLH promptly had them taken down, even having senior staff join in patrolling the hospital to find and pull down all such anti-Israel posters. Hospital administrators should always be quick to act on any complaints of antisemitism, to investigate at once and to expel without delay, any medical personnel currently on their staffs found to have engaged in antisemitic words and deeds.
