The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) claims that it “defends all human rights: civil, political, economic, social and cultural, as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” That is a total lie, coming from an organization that deserves to be renamed “the International Federation for the Defense of Evil.”
Like other anti-Semitic organizations of its ilk, the FIDH spewed its perverted notion of “human rights” by claiming that Hamas’s horrific massacre of innocent Israeli civilians, including the beheading of scores of babies, was Israel’s fault. FIDH referred to the Palestinian terrorists’ slaughter in cold blood of the most Jewish civilians in one day since the Holocaust as simply “the recent Hamas offensive in Israel.”
FIDH joins other groups, such as a collection of pro-Palestinian student groups at Harvard, that are condemning Israel for responding with military force to ensure that Hamas’s savage attacks on Israeli civilians can never happen again.
Parroting the propaganda of the Palestinian terrorists and their enablers, FIDH declared, “This cycle of violence is a sadly predictable and expected result of Israel’s illegal occupation and apartheid regime that has lasted too long, despite calls and warnings from human rights organizations and justice mechanisms.”
No, this “cycle” of violence was initiated by Hamas in its quest to fulfill the genocidal mission set out in its founding document, the “Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement.” That mission, expressed in religious terms, is the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel and the killing of as many Jews as possible.
“Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people,” the Covenant declared. “The Islamic Resistance Movement [Hamas] believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day…”
Hamas’s Covenant instructed its followers that “The day that enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In face of the Jews’ usurpation of Palestine, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised.”
To underscore what Hamas meant in exhorting its followers to engage in “Jihad” as a religious duty, its Covenant quoted chilling words from the Hadith (the collection of the sayings or traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, which devout Muslims consider to be an authoritative religious source, second only to the Koran):
“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him…”
In 2017, Hamas unveiled a new governing document, claiming that “its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion.” Aside from trying to hide its anti-Semitism by using the word “Zionist” instead of “Jew,” Hamas’s malevolent intent remains the same. Indeed, the terrorist organization never rescinded its founding Covenant.
Hamas still defined “Palestine” as extending “from the River Jordan in the east to the Mediterranean in the west, and from Ras al-Naqurah in the north to Umm al-Rashrash in the south.” And it reiterated its call for “jihad,” declaring that “The liberation of Palestine is the duty of the Palestinian people in particular and the duty of the Arab and Islamic Ummah in general.”
The underlining religious motivation for Hamas’s call to eliminate the Jewish State of Israel and replace it with an Arabic Islamic state has not changed. “Palestine is an Arab Islamic land,” Hamas’s 2017 document proclaimed. “It is a blessed sacred land that has a special place in the heart of every Arab and every Muslim.”
These are not just words written on a piece of paper for rhetorical effect. Hamas leaders believe in their hearts that “massacring this enemy is a divine order,” in the words uttered in 2021 by Hamas MP and member of Board of Trustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Marwan Abu Ras.
The “enemy” who must be massacred is any Jew living on what Islamists claim is their “sacred land” of “Palestine.” As Hamas demonstrated so vividly for the world to see beginning on the Jewish Sabbath and a religious Jewish holiday, the “enemy” includes Jewish babies whom the terrorist monsters beheaded.
Hamas’s commander Muhammad Deif reveled in the slaughter that was just conducted by his terrorist brigades. “Righteous fighters, this is your day to bury this criminal enemy. Its time has finished. Kill them wherever you find them,” Deif said from an undisclosed location. “Remove this filth from your land and your sacred places. Fight and the angels fight with you.”
Hamas’s goal remains the same as it expressed in its founding Covenant – the extermination of all Jews in Israel “wherever” the savages (whom Hamas’s commander perversely calls “righteous fighters”) “find them.”
Nevertheless, the International Federation for Human Rights and its cohorts believe that the “root causes” of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and what it referred to benignly as “the recent Hamas offensive in Israel” lie in Israel’s alleged “system of apartheid” and “colonization.” If only Israel had honored the Palestinians’ “right to self-determination,” ended its occupation, and granted millions of so-called Palestinian “refugees” the “right of return,” there would have been no need for Hamas’s “offensive,” according to FIDH.
History says otherwise. Hamas is following a long pattern, which preceded Israel’s establishment as an independent state – Arabs’ genocidal massacres of Jews residing in the Jewish homeland. As one example, the Arabs perpetrated the 1929 Hebron massacre, which resulted in the killing of nearly 70 Jews, the pillaging of Jewish homes, and the ravaging of synagogues.
Hamas’s declared intent is to eliminate the Jewish State of Israel and to kill Jews as an Islamic duty. Hamas’s bestial acts that it committed during its invasion that began on October 7th hearken back to the dark days of Nazi Germany. In blaming Israel for Hamas’s atrocities, FIDH is serving as nothing more than a “useful idiot” for Hamas and its Islamist allies.
Hamas is now asking for a truce with Israel, to which Israel responded that Hamas will be getting the war that it asked for. This time, Israel is prepared to reject the siren calls for a ceasefire, wherever they come from. Nothing short of destroying this latest incarnation of evil, as happened to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan in World War II, is acceptable.
