NextImg:Ilhan Omar's Daughter Complains of Being Homeless and Hungry

Isra Hisri is the daughter of the infamous Squadroon, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. She’s been taking part in the antisemitic and pro-Hamas demonstrations being held on the campus of Columbia University. Those demonstrators — or 108 of them — have just been arrested by the NYPD, at the express request of Columbia’s president, Minouche Shafik. Now Isra Hirsi is poor-mouthing, saying she is “homeless” and “hungry.’ Given that her mother was able to cover her $90,000 Barnard College (Columbia’s female branch) bill with no difficulty, one would assume Ilhan Omar could pay for her daughter’s care and feeding now. In fact, why doesn’t Isra Hirsi move back in with her mother and stepfather Tim Mynett, in Washington, where she could also be hired, in a New York minute, to work in the office of Omar’s BFF, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib? Robert Spencer wrote about this here, and more on Isra Hirsi and her proclaimed plight can be found here: “Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, says she’s homeless, cries poverty after suspension from $90K-per-year college over anti-Israel protests,” by Nika Shakhnazarova and Emily Crane, New York Post, April 22, 2024:

The privileged daughter of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar amazingly claims she’s homeless and can’t get food after being kicked out of her prestigious $90,000-per-year Barnard College dorm following her arrest at last week’s anti-Israel protests on Columbia University’s campus.

Isra Hirsi, 21, and a handful of other Barnard students were slapped with suspensions after they were among the more than 100 protestors cuffed and hauled away for refusing to clear out from a tent encampment on the Ivy League school’s campus last Thursday [April 18].

“I was a little bit frantic, like, where am I going to sleep? Where am I gonna go?” she whined to Teen Vogue after learning she’d been evicted from campus housing and banned from using the dining hall.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, has revealed she has nowhere to live after taking part in a disruptive anti-Israel protest at Columbia University.

“Nowhere to live”? Her mother won’t send her a few thousand dollars to cover a month’s rent? Her mother, now so prominent in Muslim and “progressive” circles all over the United States, has no one in all of New York City to call on who might put her daughter up as a favor for free? What about officials at CAIR — can’t they help out?

Of course, the most obvious solution is for Isra Hirsi to move back to her mother’s home in Washington, with room and board provided by her doting mother, who has declared herself so “enormously proud” of her daughter for taking part in the tent encampment anti-Israel protest. And she will immediately get a well-paid staff job in the office of Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. You know, one of those hires based strictly on merit — Muslim merit.

“And also all of my s–t is thrown in a random lot. It’s pretty horrible,” said the disgraced student still supported by her Democratic “squad” member mom, who said she is ” enormously proud” of her.

How ladylike, how polite, how altogether winsome is Isra Hirsi, as she complains about the emptying out of her dorm room by Columbia’s staff: “all of my s–t is thrown in a random lot. It’s pretty horrible.” Yes, how can she be expected to endure such cruel and terrible treatment? Now she knows how the inmates at Auschwitz must have felt.

“I have like four shirts, two pairs of pants,” Hirsi complained. “I don’t know when I can go home, and I don’t know if I ever will be able to.”…

But Isra, why would you not be able to go home? Of course you can. Your mother is “enormously proud” of you. Not only will she help find you a plum job on Capitol Hill, if you want one, but all sorts of other jobs will be available to the daughter of the famous Ilhan Omar, including staff jobs at CAIR, at the Muslim Students’ Association, at Students for Justice in Palestine, and so on and so predictably forth. You could be given an internship at Al Jazeera, covering the “young Muslim scene in America,” or at the BBC, or at NPR, all organizations devoted to sympathetic coverage of Palestinians. The world is your Muslim oyster, Isra. Don’t worry, everything will be coming up roses, just like those in Gulistan.

When Hirsi sought help from Barnard administration after being cut loose from jail on Thursday, she whined that she’d heard crickets.

Why should the Barnard administration want to help any student who had defied its orders to vacate that tent encampment, requiring the college to call on the NYPD to remove them? Isra Hirsi has a most exaggerated, and obnoxious, sense of entitlement.

The 21-year-old was one of more than 100 people arrested and summoned for trespassing by NYPD officers.

She committed a crime. She had been on private property — the campus of Columbia University — and after having been ordered to leave, instead remained, which turned her continued presence into the crime of trespassing. She was in custody only for a few hours, but she makes it sound as if she had suffered a terrible ordeal. And. now she is whining because Barnard has suspended her.

“I sent them an email like, ‘Hey, I rely on campus for my meals, I rely on my dining plan,’ and they were like, Oh, you can come pick up a prepackaged bag of food, a full 48 hours after I was suspended,” she told the magazine.

“There was no food support, no nothing.”

No “food support,” Isra? But you’ve just told us you were offered “a prepackaged bag of food”? Isn’t that “food support”?

Speaking about her arrest, Hirsi said she was held in custody for roughly eight hours….

Eight hours! As much as that. My god, now you know how Andrey Navalniy must have felt. No wonder your mother is “enormously proud” of you.

So here are Isra Hirsi’s complaints: she is “homeless,” though she has, in fact, two homes owned by her mother — one in Washington, and another in Minneapolis. She has no “food,” even though Barnard supplied her with “a prepackaged food bag.” She was held for all of “eight hours.” Her hands were “zip-tied” for 7 ½ of those hours. What terrible, terrible treatment.

Now listen up, Isra Hirsi. Let’s talk finances. Your mother’s Congressional salary is $174,000. In addition, she is given large sums by the government to pay for a second home in her Congressional district, and money for frequent travel between her offices in Minneapolis and Washington. She has many well-paid speaking engagements. Her total annual take is well in excess of $300,000. And that does not include the sums that her husband, who runs a political consultancy outfit in Washington, takes in.

Isra, you have nothing to worry about. You have a great career ahead of you: the public face of Young Islam. By the time your mother is ready to run for the Senate, as she is no doubt scheming about even now, you’ll be old enough to run for Congress.
