Another day, another episode of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on TV.
This time it’s “CAIR and the Nasty Phone Call.” “Florida man indicted for anti-Muslim hate crime threats against CAIR in Canton,” by Amy Lange and David Komer, WJBK, March 5, 2024:
A grand jury has indicted a West Palm Beach man for repeatedly threatening the Council on American-Islamic Relations (“CAIR”) Michigan Chapter, United States Attorney Dawn N. Ison announced today.”
After an investigation by the Canton Police Department and the FBI, Michael Shapiro, 72, of West Palm Beach, Florida is charged with three counts of transmitting threats to interstate commerce and faces up to 5 years in prison for each count.
His recorded messages included the following:
December 8, 2023: “I’m going to kill you bastards. I’m going to kill you bastards.”
December 14, 2023: “”I’m going to kill you m****r f*****g bastards. Muslims! I’m going to kill you m****r f*****s. I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill you!”
December 15, 2023: “You’re a violent people. Why do you come to America? Why do you come to Europe? M***** f******. You’re violent. You’re killers. You’re rapists. I’m going to kill you m****r f*****s!”
CAIR Staff Attorney Amy Doukoure said:
It was actually terrifying.
We had no idea who the person was, where he was calling from. We had no idea. He could have been around the corner. He could have been in the parking lot.
So Amy Doukoure understands very well the effects that anonymous death threats made over the phone can have. That is, if it is happening to her.
However, if Muslims start terrorizing people over the phone, or on social media, CAIR will support that behavior.
Here are four times CAIR, including Amy Doukoure, sided with a rabble against a man and/or his family on TV.
Dan Leonard:
When CAIR found that Toms River, New Jersey Board of Education member Dan Leonard was mocking and scoffing at Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar on Facebook, it demanded that he resign. When he did not move fast enough, it unleashed a torrent of vile phone calls to Dan Leonard’s place of employment. Dan Leonard’s social media also received many threats, including threats of physical violence directed to his underage daughter. CAIR never said anything to calm down the situation it created.
Tamar Herman:
An elementary school teacher receives threatening phone calls at home and at work after an Instagram rumor claimed that she had mishandled the hijab of one of her students. Tamar Herman was under police protection while CAIR got on TV several times to call for her termination. Apparently, CAIR thought the phone threats were a righteous act, and never even mentioned them at all.
Michael’s Restaurant:
The manager at Michael’s Restaurant sent a Muslim employee home for refusing to remove her hijab. Although the restaurant fired the manager for sending the employee home, the restaurant received death threats over the phone all day long. CAIR got on TV to side with the rabble, and eventually to compel the restaurant staff to take “sensitivity training.”
Steve Elzinga:
The owner of an orchard wanted a customer to pay for the fruit he picked. The customer posted their conversation to social media with a request for “support.” The orchard owner began getting death threats. CAIR was on two separate broadcasts, including one that featured Amy Doukoure, siding with the mob, and never acknowledging the death threats.
It is good that we have laws and a system that will protect us from phone threats such as those of Michael Shapiro.
Alas, if only the Council on American-Islamic Relations felt the same way when Muslims do it.
