For many years, people in positions of power and authority have tried to silence and censor the counterjihad movement. Robert Spencer got banned from entering the UK and got shadowbanned on Twitter. The SPLC wrote a hit piece on him. Much more can be said about the measures taken to marginalize foes of jihad terror.
But much to the surprise of many, including me, it appears that there might still be at least some hope. Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter himself, recently replied to one of Robert Spencer’s recent articles:
Elon Musk tweets “!” in reply to Robert tweeting an article covering a Muslim migrant on welfare stabbing a 9-year-old girl and her grandmother while screaming “Allahu akbar” in Sweden. As a result of this, Robert gained over a thousand new followers and his tweet went viral, gaining up to 23.9K likes and 10.8K retweets.
And of course, the usual denialism and defamatory accusations came from the usual culprits. Muslims did not bother to read Robert’s article, and repeatedly accused Robert of lying and spreading “fake news.” This has happened before, but on this occasion, it happened on a much wider scale that people including David Wood noticed it, as he humorously explains in this clip from a This Week in Jihad episode:
All they literally had to do was click on the damn link and read the story, but what can we expect from dishonest followers of a religion of lies?
What was even more surprising was that Elon Musk also replied to a tweet by Amy Mek, another foe of jihad terror:
Elon Musk tweeted “He is right” in reply to Amy Mek posting a clip of a French imam boasting about how Muslims will conquer France through jihad. Amy, in response, thanks Elon Musk for drawing attention to her work.
Amy has been censored and banned for a considerable period, but Elon has mitigated this. Elon’s reply to Amy Mek had even more surprising results; her tweet got 35.2K likes and 17.4K retweets. That’s even more attention than what Robert got. This is not only a good sign, this is unthinkable. I never would have expected Elon Musk to assist the efforts of the counterjihad movement.
It’s hard to tell if Elon knows what he was doing. He did assist Matt Walsh and the Daily Wire in their efforts of combating gender ideology, which was good. Conservatives have been gaining a lot of ground against gender ideology despite the fascistic Left’s attempts to silence them. There’s a lot of pressure from Leftist elites to censor and silence the counterjihad movement; one would have expected Elon to just ignore Robert Spencer and Amy Mek, but he didn’t. He helped them gain more followers and attention.
We really live in mysterious times. God knows what the future holds for us.
